ESASEM is synonymous with investigation aimed at improving the resistance of plants to illness. In ESASEM, investigation is the heart of our activity. Since 1988, we have constantly turned to innovation and development to offer high quality vegetable seeds that satisfy the needs of a constantly evolving market. Our division of investigation is centered on key horticultural crops, such as tomato, pimiento, sandia, calabacín, broccoli, coliflor and melon.
We implement better conventional techniques together with advanced applications of molecular biology to develop varieties with high genetic resistance to diseases such as vascular ticks (traqueomycosis), bacterial infections, viral infections and infestations by nematodes here. Special attention should be paid to front resistance to TSWV (tomato bronce virus), TYLCV (tomato yellow fruit virus) and ToBRFV (tomato brown wrinkled fruit virus), pathogens prevalent in Mediterranean growing regions.
