The senior sales team knows this all too well: we’re moving from aubergines, courgettes and tomatoes to peaches, apricots and watermelons. The junior sales staff are starting to learn about the grading of stone fruit, getting to know the farmers who specialise in these products and learning about the palletisation of melons and watermelons. It’s a change that happens every year, yet it’s always different. Although, well, there is one thing that never changes: we’re always accompanied by broccoli, cauliflower, celery and lettuces, which are available all year round. That’s how our business works: we go out into the field to source the produce our customers need, ensuring the best quality at an affordable price. Come rain, snow or scorching sun, our quality controllers visit the loading bays to check that everything meets the required standards. We also manage logistics and transport to ensure everything arrives as planned, and every morning our sales team sources, manages and negotiates the prices of the produce.
