The third edition of FiturNext is getting closer and closer and the FITUR Observatory, sponsored by Mastercard, has announced the first speakers confirmed to get things ready

How tourism can contribute to a more accessible society will be the key focus of the three days to be held between January 19th and 21st 2022, at the Madrid International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR).

Equity as a roadmap

In order to achieve the maximum democratisation of travel, it is necessary for all groups to be represented in the industry. Many experts and organisations are working to address accessibility in the tourism sector.

The FiturNext 2022 programme aims to present the winning initiatives of the challenge while offering a space for presentations, talks and testimonials from professionals who will address the importance of contributing to inclusion and boosting a tourism offer that responds to the needs of all citizens.

Among them is the first speaker, Tania Iglesias, head of projects in the R+D+i area of SEGITTUR, who will share her experience and career in the promotion of tourism destinations accessible to all. She is currently working in the development of tourism intelligence and Big Data initiatives such as the Tourism Innovation Systems.

Luigi Leporiere, head of the Accessible Tourism area of PREDIF (State Representative Platform of People with Physical Disabilities), is the next speaker confirmed for this edition of FiturNext 2022. Leporiere will coordinate projects related to the strategic planning of accessibility in tourism, the organisation of assisted travel and inclusion.

The FiturNext Advisory Board is renewed

The FiturNext Advisory Board is key to providing a vision that complements the selection process of the winning initiatives for each challenge, according to their replicability and impact index.

This year, the Board has been enriched with four new members: Dr. Concepción Foronda, professor at the University of Seville and director of the Chair of Smart Tourism, Dr. Cristina Figueroa Domecq, professor at the University Rey Juan Carlos, Dr. Daniela Freund de Kumblis, professor and researcher at IQS School of Management and Dr.Daniela Moreno Alarcón, consultant and researcher specialising in tourism and gender. You can discover all the members in this link.

Keep an eye on FiturNext. In a few weeks we will announce the finalists and winners of the 2022 challenge, focused on the contribution of tourism to a more accessible, inclusive and sustainable society for all.
