The Advisory Committee of the International Urban Planning and Environment Trade Fair, TECMA, met again on 15 February to finalise details of its 22nd edition, which will be held from 18 to 20 June at IFEMA MADRID. Together with the International Recovery and Recycling Trade Fair, SRR, and the MADRID CITIES FORUM, the event forms part of the 5th Forum of Sustainable Environmental Practices (FSMS), the brand that brings together these three events focused on sectors of activity and territories that develop innovative and environmentally sustainable services, products and projects.

David Moneo, Director of FSMS, and María García de Tuñón, Commercial Manager of TECMA, explained the approaches being developed for the 2024 edition of the trade fair, highlighting a significant increase in exhibitors requesting spaces, whose presence four months before the event will exceed the figures for TECMA 2022, which reached 300 companies represented, 227 exhibitors and nearly 11,000 visitors.

In this context, special mention should be made of the extensive communication and promotion work being done by IFEMA MADRID to maximise the visibility and impact of TECMA 2024, both nationally and internationally, with communication actions with specialised and general media, direct advertising and social media campaigns.

They also explained in detail how progress is being made on the content programme for the sixth edition of the MADRID CITIES FORUM, which is being held in the same pavilion as TECMA. It will be the meeting point for professionals, public administrations and companies to analyse the sustainable urban future, and will host 25 round tables with 150 speakers, the third edition of the Exhibition of Good Urban Practices and the announcement of the winners of the second edition of the Árbol or Tree Award.

TECMA 2024 will occupy pavilion 8 of IFEMA MADRID, with a gross area of 16,200 square metres, plus an outdoor area for the 'Zero Waste' exhibit of efficient and zero-emission vehicles. In addition, part of pavilion 6 will host the space dedicated to the Escobas Awards, which will once again be presented during the trade fair.

Given the increase in area and number of exhibitors planned for 2024, IFEMA MADRID has decided to strengthen the fair for its 2026 edition, moving from pavilion 8 to Hall 9, with a capacity of 21,600 square metres. This ensures that the demand from participating companies is adequately met and the capacity to host parallel events is increased.
