The Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique) will showcase 15 responsible fashion brands and garments developed with biomaterials
The space will feature current trends in sustainable fashion, circular fashion, and new approaches to responsible design
Carrot, soy sauce and vanilla are among the biomaterials used by fashion designers
Sustainability has become a key decision-making factor for the fashion industry. In collaboration with Luxiders magazine, the Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique) will be back at MOMAD with its own space. The International Fashion, Footwear and Accessories Trade Show will be held from 5 to 7 February in Hall 10 at IFEMA MADRID, with proposals and innovations for responsible and circular fashion.
The space will house 15 firms that work with recycled materials, meet traceability criteria, and use low-impact processes, integrating sustainability into their collections. The participating brands selected represent different positions and product types, from fashion and accessories to footwear and complements.
Among the brands that will exhibit their collections in the Conscious Boutique are Circu, Pacifique Sud, Saint Martin, Disoal, Ecco, Dando Un Paseo, Kahyra, Lebago, Tartaruga, Susan Pinto, Escorpion, Luna Llena, Nekane, Brax, and Costa y Soler.
Garments created with biomaterials
For the first time, the Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique) will show a selection of garments developed with biomaterials by students from the Creative Campus of the European University and as part of the research of the EcoMat project of the EcoBD Lab group led by Dr Esther Pizarro. The new space will showcase experimental applications of new materials in fashion, exploring alternatives to conventional fabrics.
Among the pieces that will be on display at the Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique) are bags made from jelly combined with soy sauce, vanilla, red wine or foods typical of cocido madrileño, Madrid's traditional stew, as well as tops, dresses, and caps created with plant-based materials, such as carrot and other experimental compounds.
These projects will enable professionals to learn first-hand about new lines of research and developments in materials applied to fashion design, with potential for future application in the industry.
The Boutique Consciente (Conscious Boutique) is part of the core exhibition offer of MOMAD and a component of this great trade meeting that melds fashion, footwear and accessories. Coinciding with Bisutex and Intergift, the display will offer professional visitors an overview of the market and new proposals on sustainability and innovation in materials.
