The domestic sales of the members of the governing body of AFME grew by 13.02% in the first five months of 2022

The International Fair of Solutions of the Electrical and Electronic Industry, MATELEC, will showcase the positive evolution of the electrical materials sector. The fair, which this year will be held jointly with CONSTRUTEC, BIMEXPO, ARCHISTONE and VETECO, sharing common synergies, will take place in person, under the umbrella of ePower&Building 2022, from the 15th to the 18th of November, at the Recinto Ferial de IFEMA MADRID.

The electrical materials manufacturing sector continues to show a very positive evolution, according to the most recent data from the Association of Manufacturers of Electrical Materials (AFME). Specifically, the growth in sales of the members of the Governing Body of AFME in the domestic market over the period from January to May 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, was 13.02%.

For its part, the TAM in May 2022 (comparison of sales between June 2021 to May 2022 with those from June 2020 to May 2021) increased by 8.82%.

In that statistic, the cable companies give their results in volume (tonnes), in order to avoid distortions due to fluctuations in the costs of raw materials.

According to the Association, a number of aspects indicate that that growth could slow down in the second half of the year.
