Puertos del Estado has joined up with Global Mobility Call
Global Mobility Call will bring together the key players in mobility from June 14 to 16, 2022 at IFEMA MADRID
Consolidation of the ports in the future involves digitalization, electrification, and logistical efficiency
The Spanish port system is carrying out a number of projects to consolidate connectivity and innovation in its activity, which will contribute to making international sea transport more sustainable. This is why Puertos del Estado has joined up with Global Mobility Call, the project from IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub that aims to contribute to the energy resilience needed in the urgent circumstances in Europe today.
The Congress will take place from June 14 to 16, 2022 at the IFEMA MADRID fairgrounds and has firm institutional backing, including Puertos del Estado, to develop actions for sustainability eco-proactivity at its ports in consonance with sustainable mobility.
Ports 4.0 and digitalization as the guiding line of port sustainability
In its process to build ports of the future (sustainable, connected, and innovative), the institution is carrying out projects such as the Ports 4.0 funds aimed, among other objectives, at logistical efficiency in the area of infrastructures, as well as at environmental and energy sustainability.
Another project already under way is the SIMPLE platform (SIMplification of Processes for a Logistic Enhancement), which takes one more step forward in the process of digitalization and sustainability started by the Spanish port system, along with MITMA, by means of analyzing, implementing, and managing a useful prototype for a system for exchanging logistical information.
Another is the On-shore Power Supply (OPS) Project that promotes the supply of electricity to docked vessels so they can shut down their engines, thereby improving air quality in port areas and reducing fuel combustion in the ships.
