The 25th edition of the OPTOM congress, organised by the General Council of Colleges of Opticians-Optometrists, will take place on 13, 14 and 15 April 2018, at the North Convention Center at IFEMA. It has been scheduled to coincide with the 32nd edition of the trade show, whose exhibition concept has been updated significantly in recent years, and which has become established as the leading business show for the sector in the Iberian market (Spain and Portugal).
OPTOM has been scheduled to coincide with EXPOOPTICA in order to strengthen synergies between both, and to offer professionals scientific advances in both optometry and ophthalmic optics, and the latest innovations from the brands participating in the show, all under one roof, at IFEMA.
According to Juan Carlos Martinez, president of the General Council of Colleges of Opticians-Optometrists "Holding the congress and trade fair on the same dates is the result of an institutional arrangement that is renewed every two years, and which benefits the entire industry with the synergies that generates; enhancing the opportunities and demands faced by a sector that is becoming increasingly specialised and which is gaining social weight in the health field.
