María Luisa Domínguez González is a Civil Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM-1993). She also holds a Law Degree from the Open National University (UNED-2006), and a Master’s in international strategic management from the UPM (2016).
Having worked for an engineering company for five years, she joined the Projects Business Unit of the Railway Infrastructure Manager (GIF) in January 1998, becoming Head of the Unit from 2001. .
In 2005, after the creation of ADIF, she became Director of High-Speed Projects, and since 2007, Director of Studies and Projects of the General Directorate of Large High-Speed Projects, responsible for preliminary studies and infrastructure and architecture projects for the new high-speed lines developed in Spain.
In 2013 she joined the ADIF-High Speed directorate as head of the Technical Coordination area.
In 2016 she returned to the field of projects, adding those of the conventional network to the high-speed ones, as well as the functional planning of the network, as Project Director.
Between 2018 and 2021 she was Strategic Planning and Projects Managing Director at ADIF, responsible for the company's strategy, the functional planning of the network, the infrastructure and architecture projects of the entire network, and international relations. Besides, the implementation of the BIM methodology in the company is being developed from her area.
Since July 2021 she is the Chairwoman of ADIF and ADIF-High Speed.
Since 2009 she has been a lecturer in the AETOS / UNED Master's Degree in Tunnels and Underground Works and teaches in different university master's degrees (UPM and its Summer University, European University of Madrid).
She is a member of the Editorial and Drafting Committee of the Public Works Magazine of the Spanish Official College of Civil Engineers.
