Corridor 360°: Atlantic and Mediterranean, an opportunity to get to know these multimodal corridors in all their dimensions, at Global Mobility Call

The conference, which is part of the European mobility agenda within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will be held on October 26 at IFEMA MADRID.

The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of the Spanish Government, is organizing within the framework of Global Mobility Call the event Corridor 360°: Atlantic and Mediterranean, which will be attended by representatives of European institutions, the Spanish central administration and companies.

The conference will be held on October 26 at IFEMA MADRID, will be open to the public with the Congress Pass Experience, and will address these corridors in a dimension beyond simple infrastructure works, and will focus on how they improve the lives and economies of people from services for the transport of passengers and goods.

Specifically, with the focus on rail transport, it will present the corridors from four aspects that represent a more global vision of these projects of extraordinary dimensions and are key to the services to be developed in their respective geographical areas.

In order to make these services possible, it is necessary to improve and adapt both the rolling stock and the nodal structures in their different locations, for which the participation of the private sector will be key, with the support of aid programs and financing mechanisms.

High institutional participation and business sector leaders

On Thursday, October 26, at 9:30 a.m. in the Main Auditorium or Main Stage of the Global Mobility Call in Pavilion 14 of the IFEMA MADRID Exhibition Center, the Secretary of State for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, David Lucas, will open the conference.

Later, from 10:00 to 11: 00 hours, the plenary session will be held in which Iveta Radičová, coordinator of the European Union for the Mediterranean Corridor, will present An European vision of the Mediterranean Corridor; the Presentation of the Mediterranean Corridor 360° will be given by Josep-Vicent Boira, Government Commissioner for the Mediterranean Corridor; A European vision of the Atlantic Corridor will be presented by Carlo Secchi, European Union coordinator for the Atlantic Corridor, and Atlantic Corridor 360° will be presented by José Antonio Sebastián, Government Commissioner for the Atlantic Corridor.

At 11:00 a.m., in the Agora Connect, the round table on Infrastructures for the corridors will be held, with the participation of Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, president of Puertos del Estado; Abel López, director of Import, Export and Transport of the Inditex Group; Fernando Acebrón, director of Institutional Relations of Ford Iberia; Álvaro Coronado, coordinator of the Intermodal Area Europe and National Train of Mercadona; and María Luisa Domínguez, president of Adif. The round table will be moderated by Enric Juliana, from the newspaper La Vanguardia.

The event will continue at 12:00 noon, in the Agora Connect, with the round table on New rolling stock for passengers and freight, with the intervention of Leopoldo Maeztu, CEO of Alstom; Iñigo Parra, World Vice President of the Stadler Group; Ana Lucena, Iberia Commercial Director of Talgo; and Jordi Ortuño, Ermewa's delegate for Spain. Mario Alejandre, from Cadena SER, will be the moderator.

It will be followed at 1:00 p.m., in the Perspective Forum, by a round table discussion on EU financing and Community aid, with Carlo Secchi, European Union coordinator for the Atlantic Corridor; Xavier Flores, Secretary General for Infrastructures; Bruno Silva, General Manager of Medway; and Daniel Iceta, CEO of Railsider. The round table will be moderated by Ramón Muñiz, from El Comercio.

The fourth table will be held at 1:45 p.m., in the Perspective Forum, the table Debate on service models in European corridors, with the participation of Joaquín del Moral, general manager of Renfe Mercancías; Idoia Galindo, CEO of Grupo Transfesa; Miguel de Sanjuan, commercial director of VIIA; Jorge Alonso, president of Grupo Alonso; Miquel Llevat, CEO of Captrain, and will be moderated by Isabel Domingo, from Las Provincias.

The closing of the event is scheduled for around 2:30 p.m.

Corridor 360°: Atlantic and Mediterranean is the third Global Mobility Call event on the agenda of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, along with the event on October 25 at the EU Forum Rural Mobility Conference, and the meeting on Thursday October 26 The PEP Partnership on Active Mobility.
