Sustainable public transport, its urban planning and multimodal approaches, straight from the experts at Global Mobility Call

Their talks will go over solutions being developed in Spain and Latin America. The speakers form part of the programme for the Congress that will be held on June 14 to 16 at IFEMA MADRID.

The push for sustainable public transport, urban planning for its decarbonisation and multimodal approaches will be among the topics covered by the speakers at Global Mobility Call, IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub's project aiming to help economic recovery and energy resilience needed in these urgent circumstances currently in Europe.

The Congress, which will be held from June 14 to 16 at IFEMA MADRID, will have the participation of Alfonso Sánchez, Diego Martins, Berta Barrero and Rafaela Romero, who will speak at different conferences to explain some proposals and solutions being worked on in developing sustainable mobility in Spain and Latin America.

Alfonso Sánchez Vicente, Managing Director of Madrid's municipal transport authority, Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid (EMT). He will take part in the conference "Promoting sustainable and efficient public transport through public-private collaboration" at the Main Auditorium on June 16.. He is also vice president of UITP for Spain. He has held positions as: CEO of the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium, board member of the Metro of Madrid, board member of the Coslada Transport Centre, managing director of Environmental Management and Development of Madrid (GEDESMA) and managing director of Infrastructure Management for Castilla-La Mancha. He began his career initially in the private sector, where he held a number of managerial positions in the construction industry and the real estate sector.

Diego Martins, head of the team at Wallbox Latam. He has 16 years of experience in the automotive industry, 3 of them devoted to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles.

Berta Barrero Vázquez, general manager of Mobility Indra. She is also president of Industry on the Steering Committee at UITP, member of the Council of Railway Experts at the UNIFE Group. As a member of the Steering Committee at Indra, she is in charge of spearheading the Transformation Plan for culture at Indra. A leader of consultancy, engineering and technological solutions, systems and services for public transport (railroad and urban transport) and highways, seaports and airports. She heads the strategy and evolution of Indra's Portfolio for the Infrastructures and Transport sector, focusing on digital talent, innovation, and quality.

Rafaela Romero Pozo, member of the Gipuzkoa parliament and in charge of Mobility and Territorial Organisation. Ever since her appointment as head of mobility in Gipuzkoa in 2019, she has become a firm defender of the Gipuzkoa public transport card, MUGI. Her political and professional career has taken her to hold different organic posts in the Gipuzkoa, Euskadi socialist party as well as institutional positions: board member, city councillor, president of the General Junta of Gipuzkoa, the Basque parliament.
