GENERA 2022 will host the presentation of the Global Renewable Energy Status Report 2022 and SPIREC 2023

The International Energy and Environment Fair, GENERA 2022, will host, on 15 and 16 June coming, the two-day IDAE Conference run by the Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving, operating under the auspices of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, at IFEMA MADRID, organiser of the event. As well as debating the energy transition, the Global Status Report 2022 will be presented by REN21 as will the forthcoming International Conference on Renewable Energy (SPIREC), which will take place at IFEMA, from 21 to 23 February 2023.

The first day will take place on 15 June with the theme of “The global energy transition; where are we and where are we going?” The launch of the Global Status Report 2022, the most important annual report on renewable energy on a global level, drafted by REN21 will also take place. This will also be the venue for the upcoming International Renewable Energy Conference (SPIREC), which will take place at IFEMA Madrid from 21 to 23 February 2023 and which will welcome many national and international authorities.

On the same day, at 12:00 noon, this 25th edition of GENERA will be the stage for the Information Day on the Life Sub-Programme - Clean Energy Transition (CIT)”. This parallel event will present in detail the themes of the 2022 call for submissions to the sub-programme, with the IDEA serving as the National Contact Point. It will cover the first results obtained, the recommendations for the presentation of successful bids and examples of projects. This programme is developed to present the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, focused on the development of actions that add value for Europe. It also backs the objectives of the European Green Deal and the sustainable energy policies of the EU.

Subsequently, on the 16th, we will start with a day on communication in the sphere of the energy transition and new media. The IDAE works for society to understand the opportunities of the energy transition and wants to host a debate on the best way to communicate and inform. Specialists in communication will appear, adapting content to new media in line with use of social media.

The International Energy and Environment Fair, GENERA, is hosted in conjunction with the fourth ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY FORUM (FSMS) at Pavilions 6 and 8 of IFEMA MADRID Recinto Ferial and will include the 21st International Urbanism and Environment Fair (TECMA); the 8th International Recovery and Recycling Trade Fair (SRR) and the firth FORUM OF THE CITIES OF MADRID. What's more. GENERA also coincides with the latest project of IFEMA MADRID, the Global Mobility Call, the international conference on sustainable mobility for people and goods.

ABOUT IDAE

The Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) operates under the auspices of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, through the State Secretary for Energy upon whom it depends organically.

The work is focused on contributing to the landmark achievements of Spain in improving energy efficiency, renewable energies and low-carbon technologies. Within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Spanish Government, the IDAE oversees the management 10.5 billion euros from European funds for the purpose of advancing towards a fair, green and participative energy transition based on distributed renewable generation, energy savings and self-consumption.
