More than 65,000 professionals and 710 companies showcased the automotive components industry’s most innovative solutions

A total of 65,514 professionals from 80 countries and 710 companies came together for the 17th edition of MOTORTEC 2025, the leading trade event for the automotive aftermarket in Southern Europe. Organised by IFEMA MADRID, the event took place from 23–26 April at the organisation’s Recinto Ferial. Spanning 100,000 m² across six halls, the show floor demonstrated the exceptional R&D capabilities of one of the country’s most vital industries. The event was officially opened by Spain’s Minister for Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, who highlighted the sector’s continued importance and innovation.

These impressive figures underline the buoyant moment the industry is experiencing. This year’s edition comfortably exceeded the 52,251 visitors registered in 2022 and the 60,349 in 2019, making it the most successful MOTORTEC in its 34-year history since launching in 1991.

Workshop professionals once again formed a core audience at MOTORTEC, with 34,067 in attendance. As key stakeholders in the aftermarket ecosystem, special focus was placed on content, features and services relevant to their day-to-day needs.

Also notable was the presence of 7,213 students, the next generation of sector talent.  In line with the automotive aftermarket industry’s focus on future workforce development, MOTORTEC 2025 placed strong emphasis on engaging young professionals and showcasing the wealth of career opportunities available across the industry.

In terms of visitor profiles, 52% of attendees came from the workshop sector, particularly from mechanical, multi-brand and electromechanical workshops. This was followed by 13.18% from distribution, 11.13% from services, 7.29% from manufacturing, 6.94% from education, 4.20% from export/import businesses, 2.13% from purchasing groups, and 1.81% from associations and public bodies.

On the domestic front, professionals attended from all of Spain’s autonomous communities, with particularly strong representation from Madrid, Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and León, Catalonia and the Valencian Community.

International attendance also hit a new high, with a 10% increase on 2019. A total of 5,831 international professionals – far surpassing the expected 4,000 – travelled from 80 countries. Notable representation came from Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, China.

This robust global turnout, along with the participation of 255 international companies from 28 countries, underscores MOTORTEC’s expanding international profile. This growth has been supported by a targeted international buyers’ programme, as well as other initiatives designed to connect the event with high-interest markets for the automotive aftermarket.

Looking ahead, a new edition of MOTORTEC Chile will take place from 26–28 June at Espacio Riesco Exhibition Centre in Santiago, carrying the success of the Spanish model to the Latin American market.

MOTORTEC 2025 once again provided the leading platform for showcasing the latest technologies and solutions in the automotive aftermarket. As part of this, the event continued its tradition of celebrating innovation by recognising the most cutting-edge products, which were featured alongside other entries in the well-established Innovation Gallery. A total of 33 companies submitted 41 products and solutions to the competition.

Beyond the exhibition, the event provided a hub for expert insight and industry dialogue, hosting over 250 sessions – including conferences, round tables, and competitions – in a dedicated 6,159 m² space, attracting participation from 5,406 professionals.

Among the new initiatives was the launch of the MOTORTEC Passport, designed to enhance visitor engagement. With over 15,000 participants, the programme exceeded expectations, helping participating companies drive more traffic to their stands and increase brand exposure across the show floor.

Following the outstanding success of this 17th edition, IFEMA MADRID is already preparing for the next MOTORTEC, set to take place from 7–10 April 2027 at its Recinto Ferial.
