At Fundación IFEMA LAB, an R&D&I laboratory located at IFEMA MADRID, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer with an interest in Artificial Intelligence to join our team.

What will you do on a daily basis?

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications that support the Foundation’s operations and research projects.
• Integrate and customize language model-based (LLMs) solutions to improve interaction and text data analysis.
• Optimize the implementation and execution of language models using technologies such as Ollama, ensuring their efficient integration into projects.
• Manage development and deployment environments using Docker, ensuring portability and scalability of solutions.
• Work with technologies such as Computer Vision, Big Data, and NLP, applying them to the trade fair and congress sector.
• Explore new Artificial Intelligence technologies and assess their applicability to real-world use cases.
• Document code and development processes, ensuring clarity and maintainability.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, demonstrable through projects in academic or professional environments.
• Basic knowledge of language models and natural language processing (NLP).
• Proficiency in Python, especially in libraries for AI and data analysis.
• Experience with Docker for managing development and deployment environments.
• Knowledge of Ollama or similar technologies for efficiently running language models locally.
• Strong development best practices: clean, well-documented, and scalable code.
• Experience using Git as a version control tool.
• Minimum B2 level of English, with the ability to read and write technical documentation.
• Proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and the desire to develop in an R&D&I environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with FastAPI or Flask for developing APIs with AI models.
• Knowledge of TensorFlow or PyTorch for working with custom artificial intelligence models.
• Familiarity with MLflow for managing and tracking AI experiments.
