The International Promotional Gift Trade Fair will coincide with Bisutex, Madridjoya and MOMAD during lifestyle week at IFEMA MADRID (13-17 September), presenting new items that will grace Spain's store windows this autumn-winter season.

Designers, interior designers, decorators, retailers and trendsetters in interior design will flock to the biggest trade event in Spain and Portugal, Intergift, the International Gift and Decoration Fair, programmed to take place from 13 to 17 September 2023 in halls 3, 5 and 7 at IFEMA MADRID.

Organised by IFEMA MADRID, the fair will be organised around two themed areas: Home&Deco, which will showcase new trends and novelties in furniture and decoration, and Gift, which includes a wide range of original gift ideas, products for the back-to-school season, as well as different technological gadgets, souvenirs and toys.

Trends in decoration: simplicity in timeless spaces

Intergift is where the professional sector will discover the latest interior design trends. For the autumn-winter season, up-and-coming trends include the use of natural elements, earthy colours and reusing materials to give them a second life.

Different textures are combined to create welcoming ambiences in functional and comfortable rooms. Front and centre stage is the need for sustainability in all decorative items and the use of all resources to make them durable and environmentally friendly.

The practical side of these rooms will also be of the utmost importance. Extending the lifespan of all materials and their reuse to create environments where modern and vintage looks combine on different surfaces. Technology has permanently moved into our lives, and now home automation meets classic, handcrafted elements.

When it comes to colour, earth tones will continue to be the trendiest colours of the new season. These, in coexistence with nature and its colour palette, are accompanied by relaxed, warm tones, generating environments that enhance creativity and vitality, bringing a plus to each decorative space. In addition, we will see the industrial trend play with traditional styles, giving a second life to many materials and updating numerous decorative schemes.

Trends in gifts: technology is a must

The other area at the fair, Gift, will be an enormous showcase for the gadgets, gifts and items that everyone will want next season. A massive trend is customised gifts and items. Consumers want products that help to express their style and personality with custom products with 3D printing. Likewise, portable technology and high-tech gadgets and devices are top trends for 2023. From smart watches to advanced wireless headphones, all packed with versatility and features. Sustainability is also a big factor in the gift sector. The market wants options which are respectful to the environment, manufactured with recycled and biodegradable materials. Lastly, minimalism will continue to be a big trend in 2023, and gifts designed with clean lines, neutral colours and high-quality materials are gaining popularity, preferably with elegant, timeless aesthetics.

Intergift (13-17 September) will coincide with Bisutex (14-17 September), Madridjoya (14-17 September) and MOMAD (15-17 September), making this Southern Europe’s biggest lifestyle event.
