Marisa Pérez (Saint-Gobain): The heating, ventilation and air-conditioning sector must continue to make progress towards the decarbonisation of buildings

What is Saint-Gobain’s air-conditioning model?

At Saint-Gobain Isover, we are working to promote a more efficient, sustainable and professional approach to climate control. We are committed to developing insulation solutions that improve the energy efficiency of buildings, reduce their environmental impact, and ensure the comfort and safety of their occupants.

Furthermore, we support the sector beyond the product itself, offering technical services, specialised training and tools that facilitate design, correct installation and regulatory compliance, thereby helping to raise the technical standard and quality of installations.

What specific solutions and services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of solutions for air conditioning and ventilation ductwork, including our CLIMAVER® range, which is the market leader and a benchmark in self-supporting mineral wool ductwork. At the same time, we offer a wide range of insulation solutions for metal ducts, for both internal and external applications, including products such as CLIMCOVER Roll Alu 3, CLIMLINER SLAB G1 and CLIMCOVER Roll Alu 1 Black, which help to optimise the thermal and acoustic performance and air quality of the installations.

In the field of sustainability, we have launched the CLIMAVER® Recuperar para Reciclar (Recover to Recycle) service, which is designed to collect off-cuts generated on construction sites for reintroduction into the production process, thereby moving towards a more circular and efficient model of materials management.

What issues do you consider to be the most important at present in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration?

One of the key challenges facing the sector is to continue making progress towards the decarbonisation of buildings, where the efficiency of air-conditioning systems plays a vital role. In this context, ensuring that systems are properly isolated is a key factor.

It is also essential to continue investing in the professional training of fitters and technicians, thereby ensuring that solutions are implemented correctly. Training, skills certification and technical support will continue to be key elements in the sector’s development.

Finally, the integration of sustainability and circular economy criteria throughout the entire product life cycle will play an increasingly decisive role in decision-making.

How would you sum up your company’s participation in the latest edition of C&R?

Our participation in C&R 2025 has been particularly significant as a forum for engaging with the sector’s key players, enabling us to share innovations, identify market needs and strengthen our relationships with customers and influencers.

In this edition, we have focused on sustainability with the launch of the CLIMAVER® Recuperar para Reciclar service, as well as on the training and professional development of the duct fitters’ trade. In this regard, during the trade fair we highlighted the accreditation of new professionals through the Competence Assessment and Accreditation Procedure (PEAC, by its Spanish acronym), drawing particular attention to the case of the first female installer of air-conditioning and ventilation-extraction ductwork to have her competences officially accredited with the support of Saint-Gobain Isover, as part of the CLIMAVER® Club.

Initiatives such as these strengthen our position in the circular economy and address one of the sector’s main challenges: the growing need for a skilled workforce.

The trade fair has also enabled us to strengthen technical exchange, raise the profile of our solutions and continue to consolidate our role as a leading partner in the air conditioning sector.
