The cold wave that engulfed Spain in January led to many problems in homes, offices and business establishments. To prevent these setbacks, consumers can now turn to one of the Nordic countries’ most widely used solutions: the ECODAN system, exclusive to Mitsubishi Electric

Unlike conventional boilers, Mitsubishi Electric’s ECODAN equipment provides an all-in-one heating, hot water and cooling solution, thanks to its aerothermal heat pump technology, a single system based on renewable air-to-water energy. In contrast to conventional boilers, this system needs no gas installation nor any other kind of fuel. Plus, there is no need for regular safety inspections - with no combustion comes no risk of fire, explosion or poisoning.

But the most remarkable aspect is the system’s reliable operation, even in extreme climates. Mitsubishi’s Zubadan technology is geared toward providing heating in extreme cold and is capable of heating at temperatures as low as -28 °C. The special design of its compressor, with flash injection technology, allows it to continue operating at full capacity down to -15 °C. Another area where the Zubadan system stands out is in its ultra-fast defrosting, able to thaw all the ice from the outdoor unit in less than three minutes, which also makes it ideal for areas with high relative humidity.

With ECODAN, the energy required to heat a space comes from two sources: 25% from the electricity supply and the remaining 75% from the outside air, no matter how cold it is. This reduction in power consumption enables savings on heating of over 50% compared to traditional systems, meaning 50% less on electricity bills.
