CAREL has expanded its range of Gas Leak Detectors (GLD) with the new R-717 (ammonia - NH3) refrigerant gas detectors. They have built-in or remote sensors to meet all requirements for industrial refrigeration and air conditioning installations in supermarkets, shopping centres and other public places.

These detectors are already widely used for the refrigerant gases CFC, HFC, HFO and CO2. They are designed to meet all needs for industrial refrigeration and air conditioning units that require continuous control and monitoring (supermarkets, shopping centres and other public places).

These new ammonia detectors provide excellent precision and fast response times for gas leak concentration measurements. They are the latest addition to CAREL’s range of devices designed to detect leaks of the most common gases. They are suitable for stand-alone applications or integrated with CAREL controllers or with third-party devices.

Audible and Visual Signals

When a leakage above a specific concentration is detected, the sensor activates an alarm locally with an audible and visual signal. It sends the signal to the electronic controller, if available.  This enables early intervention on gas leaks to protect people in the vicinity.

Remote supervision systems can also be used for continuous monitoring in environments where refrigeration units are installed, reducing downtime due to gas leaks and guaranteeing the preservation of foodstuffs.
