With more than four decades of history, the congress consolidates its role as a technical forum and meeting point between the veterinary profession and companies in the sector

The next edition of VetMadrid 2026 was officially presented at an event held at the Official College of Veterinarians of Madrid (COLVEMA) and will be held on March 11, 12, and 13, 2026, within the framework of Iberzoo Propet 2026. This event continues its commitment and collaboration with the trade fair organised by IFEMA MADRID, along with AMVAC and AEDPAC, as co-promoters of the event.

The integration of the congress into the trade fair reinforces the event's cross-cutting nature, which combines scientific activity, business innovation, and international reach. With this, Madrid consolidates its position as the epicenter of veterinary knowledge and the pet economy in Southern Europe.

A legacy of commitment and collaboration

During the presentation, Margarita Royo, manager of AMVAC, highlighted the importance of the congress as a driver of training and scientific advancement, and underscored the value of its integration within Iberzoo Propet.

For his part, José Ramón Escribano, member of the organizing committee and former president of AMVAC, recalled that the success of VetMadrid over these 43 years has lain in the cooperation between clinicians, institutions, and companies.

The new director of health fairs at IFEMA MADRID, Félix Pérez-Fajardo, emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen the relationship between Iberzoo Propet and AMVAC to project the event internationally and position it as a European benchmark in the veterinary field.

Scientific Structure and Themes for 2026

The thematic focus of VetMadrid 2026 will be on Musculoskeletal and Nervous System Medicine and Surgery, with an eminently clinical and practical approach.

Scientific coordinator Susana García has designed a program that will include national and international presentations, panel discussions, and training sessions that combine academic rigor with professional applicability.

Alongside the congress, IberzooPropet will offer parallel spaces for knowledge and meeting:

  • The 8th IBERPET FORUM ON TRADE AND INDUSTRY IN THE COMPANION ANIMAL SECTOR IN SPAIN, organised by AEDPAC, where the latest trends in business, industrial, and market activity affecting the sector will be addressed.
  • The IberPet Classroom (formerly the Veterinary Classroom), which has established itself as a space for technical updating and dissemination for professionals in the sector.

These activities reinforce Iberzoo Propet's position as a comprehensive platform for training, innovation, and professional development for the entire companion animal sector in our country.
