The programme will feature the 2nd International Construction Week Congress, aimed at property developers, construction companies and distributors in the sector, as well as the BIM Forum and the Construction Forum.

The programme of events will bring together leading experts, companies, institutions and associations to tackle the major challenges of housing, industrialisation, digitalisation and sustainability in an industry undergoing profound transformation.

International Construction Week 2026, taking place from 10 to 13 November at IFEMA MADRID, is set to cement its position as one of the leading professional gatherings for the construction sector in southern Europe with an extensive programme of activities designed to cultivate knowledge, the exchange of experiences and the analysis of the challenges that will shape the future of construction.

Bringing together the CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMARTDOORS and PISCIMAD trade fairs, International Construction Week will attract over 500 exhibiting companies across over 43,000 m² of exhibition space, creating a common platform for the entire construction value chain. Alongside the commercial offering will be a comprehensive conference and informative programme focusing on issues like housing, industrialisation, sustainability, digitalisation, technological innovation and the transformation of production models.

2nd International Construction Week Congress

The main space for International Construction Week’s programme of events will be the 2nd International Construction Week Congress, organised in collaboration with Alimarket and designed to bring together some of the leading figures from the property development, construction, distribution and architecture sectors, as well as professional organisations.

With two parallel sessions, the Business Auditorium and the Sectoral Auditorium, the Congress will offer a complementary overview of the challenges facing the sector, combining a business perspective with technical, institutional and strategic analysis of the industry.

In the case of the Business Auditorium, the various sessions will focus on some of the issues currently of greatest concern to companies in the sector. The evolution of the residential property market and the ability to meet the growing demand for housing will be the focus of one of the most notable sessions, featuring representatives from some of the country’s leading property developers, including Kronos Homes, TM Grupo Inmobiliario, Avintia, Grupo Salas and Exxacon, alongside representatives from ASPRIMA, Vía Ágora and Ibosa. The Congress will also welcome representatives from companies and organisations across the entire value chain, from distribution groups such as Grupo Ibricks, BigMat Iberia, Discesur, AÚNA Distribución, Frans Bonhomme, Grupo Electro Stocks and Distriplac, as well as the Forum on International Expansion for the Construction Sector: Building the World, organised in partnership with ACOCEX, which will address the main challenges and opportunities facing companies as they expand into international markets.

For its part, the Sectoral Auditorium will analyse the major trends that are redefining the construction industry from a cross-cutting perspective, focusing on concepts such as industrialisation, innovation, sustainability, digitalisation and the need to move towards more efficient building models. Present in the auditorium will be representatives from organisations like CEPCO, the Construction Labour Foundation, the COAM, the General Council of Technical Architecture of Spain (CGATE), the Higher Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain (CSCAE) and APCEspaña, alongside experts from companies, institutions and organisations linked to sustainability, architecture and urban development. Another highlight will be the Special Guest Country Day: Colombia, including a round-table discussion aimed at strengthening ties between Spain and Ibero-America and sharing experiences on urban development, housing, infrastructure and innovation in construction.

On Thursday the 12th, this space will also host the Industry Afternoon. This includes a presentation entitled “Speed, Engineering and Construction: Formula 1® Spanish Grand Prix at IFEMA MADRID”, as well as the ceremony and presentation of industry awards and the 16th VETECO-ASEFAVE Awards.

BIM Forum: Digitalisation as a catalyst for transformation in the construction sector

In addition to the Congress, the BIM Forum has become established as one of the leading platforms for analysing progress in digitalisation within the construction sector and the impact that new collaborative methodologies are having across the entire value chain. It is organised jointly with Building Smart and Itec, the Institute of Construction Technology, and features exhibitors and associations such as Tecnalia, SAP, DJI Enterprise, INGURUMENAREN KIDEAK INGENIERIA and Plancraft, among others.

The topics will focus on how BIM methodology has evolved from an emerging technology into a strategic tool that improves the planning, coordination and management of increasingly complex projects. Through case studies, real-life experiences and specialist presentations, the Forum will demonstrate how organisations are adopting digital collaborative environments to optimise costs, reduce incidents and increase operational efficiency.

Construction Forum: innovation applied to the real challenges of the market

The third major knowledge hub will be the Construction Forum, conceived as a meeting place for the presentation of solutions, technologies and experiences that are already transforming the construction industry. Here, the agenda brings together manufacturers, specialists and professionals, as well as the main conferences and associations such as the Ibero-American Forum, GLASS Forum, the ASSEPI and FIMPA conferences, alongside the companies Strugal 2, Muchtek, Vekaplast Ibérica, Masking, Indresmat Sl, Preference Sl, Doco Sommer and Hu Ingenieros.

The Forum will also serve to showcase real-life case studies, providing an insight into how companies are adopting new solutions to meet specific needs relating to efficiency, quality, sustainability and profitability.

International Construction Week, an initiative of IFEMA MADRID combining the trade fairs CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD, will take place from 10 to 13 November.
