ANTIK Almoneda 2024 closure

The 41st edition of ANTIK Almoneda, a trade fair organised by IFEMA MADRID, ended on Sunday 14 April, after welcoming almost 16,000 visitors. The number of new aficionados grew by 20%. The volume of sales at the event was particularly encouraging. Almost 5,000 pieces changed hands during the fair, not to mention the many objects that were delivered later and not counted by the organisers.

More than 80 traders, antique dealers, and art galleries participated in ANTIK Almoneda, which started on 6 April, the day set aside exclusively for the trade and attended by 248 interior designers, decorators, architects, and other experts.

The fair, open to the public and direct sales, was a chance to see thousands of unique items to suit all tastes and pockets. There was everything from a Jaso Nº3 barber's seat from the 1940s to typewriters and sewing machines. There were gramophones, robots, office equipment and scientific and musical instruments. On display were Art Deco brooches and Chevalier Era jewellery, Pierre Guariche armchairs and French Hollywood recency furniture from the fifties, as well as an 18th-century Aragonese pine table with its original polychrome. Visitors also saw Limoges porcelain dinner services, silver, cutlery, and table linen, as well as unique clothing and accessories full of character. The offer was completed with a large selection of antique paintings and fine works of art by different artists.

The public was also delighted to see five exclusive garments worn by rock star Freddie Mercury during concerts with the band Queen between 1982 and 1985.

There were also activities that helped to make the trade fair a success in the “Time Capsule”, an experiential space which, on this occasion, had an 1980s theme. A trip back in time to enjoy highlights from the decade through its icons, music, food trucks and urban food.

ANTIK Almoneda, organised by IFEMA MADRID, was held from 6 to 14 April. It was a fascinating journey through thousands of objects and works of art for all tastes and pockets, special pieces of different styles and from different periods and origins.
