From 6 to 14 April, Hall 3 at IFEMA MADRID

ANTIK Almoneda, a great meeting place for art lovers, collectors, and decoration and jewellery enthusiasts, will open tomorrow, Saturday, 6 April. From 6 to 14 April, Hall 3 at IFEMA MADRID will be a magnet for retro culture fans who will come along to see the wares of more than 80 antique dealers, traders, and participating galleries.

The fair, which is open to the public and allows direct sales, will be an exhibition of thousands of unique items that suit all tastes and pockets. If you are in the market for a 1940 Jaso No. 3 barber's chair, a typewriter or a sewing machine, a gramophone, officer materials or scientific and musical instruments, you may find what you are looking for here. From Art Deco brooches to Chevalier Era jewellery, from Pierre Guariche armchairs and Hollywood regency furniture (France, 1950s) to an Aragonese pine table with its original polychrome, dating to the 18th century.  What’s more, visitors can marvel at five exclusive garments worn by Freddie Mercury on stage with the band Queen between 1982 and 1985.

In the wake of its success at the last edition, visitors will be able to experience ‘The time capsule’, a captivating, experiential look back at the eighties. It’s an opportunity to take a trip back in time to the eighties through icons, music, food trucks and urban food.

This spring, the people of Madrid and visiting art buffs, collectors, decorators, fashion fans and jewellery aficionados are in for a treat. For nine days, ALMONEDA will be a showcase of objects created by international design greats from the forties, fifties, sixties and seventies, such as antique furniture, fine jewellery and fashion jewellery, clothing, bags, lamps, clocks, rugs, archaeology, and silver, in a magnificent mosaic of pieces from the past, brimming with history and charm. The exhibition also awards prominent roles to paintings and sculptures by established and current artists. In short, it is a pleasurable stroll through times gone by, where visitors will see that unique, antique objects need not necessarily be expensive. At this edition, the fair’s two hallmarks, affordable prices and quality, will come to the fore.

ANTIK Almoneda, organised by IFEMA MADRID, will be open from 6 to 14 April from 11.30 to 20.30. As usual, there will be an open day on Tuesday, 9 April, with free entrance to all visitors.
