“Show Off Your Gem”: National Workshop Professionals Will Face Their Big Test at Motortec Chile 2026

“Show Off Your Gem”: For the first time in its history, the automotive parts and services trade show will feature a section where mechanics can compete for the title of best modified or restored car. Local mechanics will face their biggest challenge at Motortec Chile 2026.

At a time when World Cup fever is dominating conversations everywhere and bringing fans together around a shared passion, Motortec Chile 2026 will bring that energy to the automotive world with the “Show Off Your Gem” contest. This will be the first edition of this event at the trade show, which aims to select the best modified or restored car in our country.

The contest, which is still in its registration phase, has been a resounding success. Projects from all over the country have signed up for a chance to be showcased at the fair organized by IFEMA Madrid and FISA, part of the GL events Chile group. In fact, there are even participants from as far away as the Magallanes Region.

In addition, among the registrants are projects of different styles and eras: from restored classic models to modified vehicles with more contemporary designs, reflecting the diversity of the contest.

“We are very pleased with the reception ‘Exhibe tu Joyita’ has received in this first edition. We have seen great interest from participants across different regions of the country, which demonstrates the strength and growth of the automotive restoration and modification culture in Chile,” said María de los Ángeles Troncoso, commercial manager at FISA.

The call for entries also confirms the growth of the automotive restoration and modification culture in Chile, a scene that continues to attract more specialized workshops and collectors, who have undoubtedly become an important part of the national automotive landscape.

Applications will be accepted until May 31. After this stage, they will be evaluated by a specialized jury, which will ultimately select the 10 finalists to be exhibited at Motortec from June 18 to 20 at Espacio Riesco.

The selection of the winner will also have a strong participatory element. During the show, attendees themselves will be able to vote among the 10 finalists to choose the country’s most outstanding restored or modified project.

The show has historically provided a platform for automotive restoration and modification culture, but this will be the first time these projects will compete directly before the public. A true showcase for those who have transformed their vehicles into one-of-a-kind pieces.

One of the main objectives of “Exhibe tu Joyita” is, precisely, to highlight the work behind every restoration or modification. These are processes that often take years and involve technical expertise, creativity, and a high level of dedication from workshops and enthusiasts in the field.

“‘Show Off Your Gem’ aims to serve as a showcase for the talent and dedication behind every automotive project. We want Motortec to also be a space where fans, workshops, and specialists can highlight the tremendous amount of work that goes into these vehicles,” added María de los Ángeles Troncoso.

Because behind every “joyita” there is not just a car, but also a story, an identity, and hundreds of hours of work. Those interested in participating in the contest can still submit their vehicles through the official Motortec Chile 2026 website.
