Including the van from *Back to the Future*: Motortec 2026 will take a trip down memory lane with its vintage car exhibition
The automotive aftermarket trade show will once again feature an exhibition of classic cars that have been modified or restored by industry professionals. It will undoubtedly be one of the main attractions of the event, which opens its doors next Thursday, June 18, at Espacio Riesco.

No one can help but be captivated by a “Joyita”—that vehicle that shines with a light all its own in the middle of the street, its presence causing pedestrians to turn their heads. A machine that has grown more beautiful over the years thanks to the careful care of its owner. In short, a car with a story to tell that also holds a prominent place at Motortec 2026.
The leading international automotive aftermarket trade show in Chile and Latin America will feature, among its main attractions, a pavilion dedicated exclusively to vintage cars—an exhibition showcasing classic vehicles restored, modified, and customized by their owners and industry specialists.
As a trade show focused on workshop owners and aware that mechanics always appreciate a fine machine, the event will feature a section for classic cars that are sure to steal the show, just as they have in previous years.
Among the cars on display will be the Toyota Hilux, which became famous in *Back to the Future* as the vehicle Marty McFly drove. Also on display will be a Ford Baquet, a Honda Accord, and the classic Lincoln Continental, which will also have its own dedicated exhibition space at the fair.
The space will allow attendees to get an up-close look at true pieces of history, as well as appreciate the restoration and customization work done on each model.
“At Motortec, we want the visitor experience to go far beyond the fair’s commercial offerings. This vintage car pavilion represents the passion, dedication, and expertise behind the restoration and modification of classic vehicles, serving as a showcase for those who have dedicated years to preserving these true gems on wheels,” says Carola Fuentes, manager of FISA.
This space will be located next to the area where the “Show Off Your Gem” contest takes place, one of the event’s most eye-catching activities, where owners of modified or restored vehicles will compete for recognition from the public and a panel of experts, showcasing cars that stand out for their craftsmanship, regardless of the era in which they were built.
While both events will share a section within the fair, the vintage car pavilion will have its own distinct character, different from that of “Show Off Your Gem.” While the goal of the latter is for people to choose their favorite, in the vintage car space the idea is for visitors to be amazed by vehicles that were built years ago but remain in working order thanks to years of meticulous restoration.
Motortec Chile 2026 will take place from June 18 to 20 at Espacio Riesco. It is organized by IFEMA Madrid and GL events Chile and, in addition to the aforementioned activities, will also feature events such as the Technical Olympics organized by DUOC UC, the Motortec Awards, which recognize the best in the industry, as well as talks and panel discussions led by industry leaders.
