Maite Boyero Egido is currently the Spanish delegate in the Civil Security for Society (Cluster 3), under the Horizon Europe Programme.
She has a long experience in the analysis of technical, technological and societal needs in the fields of disaster resilience and crisis management, fight against crime and terrorism, border and external security, critical infrastructure protection and cybersecurity.
Participating as speaker or as organizer in more than 100 Conferences, events, fora, training, etc, at National and International level in the fields of Security, ICT and Cybersecurity, since 2008.
MSc in Telecommunication Engineering (ETSETB, Barcelona, Spain), Executive MBA at Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, 2007), and Masters in Digital Communications at Telecom Bretagne (France, 1997), she also has a long experience in the Security, Defence and Telecommunications industry.
Maite Boyero has been awarded with the Guardia Civil “Cruz de la Orden del Mérito con distintivo blanco” (awarded in 2019 by the Minister of the Interior) as well as the Prize for Women Innovators in Security (2022) by the Spanish technology Platform on Industrial security. She also takes part of the Spanish national Forum on Cybersecurity, an initiative led by the Ministry of Presidency.

Decorated with the White Cross of the Order of Merit of the Spanish Guardia Civil, David has been a strong supporter of the new Security R&I strategy of the European Union, in close collaboration with Spanish and European Security Authorities. Currently, he is the Security Business Manager at Vicomtech and representative of the EARTO Security & Defence Working Group and of the Board of Governors of the European Anti- Cybercrime Technology Development Association (EACTDA).

José Prieto is an Aerospace Engineer graduated in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (1994). He started his professional career in GMV as project engineer being mainly involved in ESA Guidance, Navigation and Control projects. After some time relocated at ESA working for the Interplanetary Mission Support Section, he assumed the lead of the International Programs Division. Since 2004 he is responsible for the Defense & Security Business Development in GMV. He has participated in many projects and study groups dealing with innovative technologies in different environments such as the Spanish MoD, the European External Action Service, the European Defence Agency, NATO and the FCAS/NGWS Program. He is a member of the Spanish association TEDAE Security Commission and ASD`s Security Business Unit.

Philippe Quevauviller holds two PhDs (oceanography and environmental chemistry) and a HDR obtained from the universities of Bordeaux and Pau (France). He has joined the European Commission in 1989 and pursued a career in research and EU policies. Since 2013, he is in charge of research programming in the area of Disaster Resilient Societies at the Secure Societies Horizon Europe programme. He has also followed up an academic career as Associate Professor and as a scientific writer and editor. On a personal touch, he is singer in several bands and a music producer.

Dr. Rosa María Mateos is a geologist who works as a Professor-Researcher at the Spanish Geological and Mining Institute of the CSIC. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Department of Geological Hazards and Climate Change at her institution. Her research interests encompass the monitoring and modeling of landslides, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Dr. Mateos has been part of the scientific teams that provided support during the volcanic emergencies on El Hierro (2011) and La Palma (2021).

Michele Calvello is Associate Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Salerno (Italy). His main research interests are focused on the analysis and management of landslide risk. He is the Principal Investigator of the Horizon Europe project “The HuT. The Human-Tech Nexus – Building a Safe Haven to cope with Climate Extremes”. He is a founding member and President of LandAware – the international network on landslide early warning systems. He is the co-Coordinator of the LARAM School, an International School for PhD students on “LAndslide Risk Assessment and Mitigation”.

Funda Atun is Assistant Professor at the ITC Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-information Management, at Twente University. She is a urban planner with a track record in the field of societal resilience, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. She got her PhD thesis in 2013 at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) on the societal resilience of transportation systems against environmental disasters.
She is part of a large international network involved in as an invited expert, member of international scientific advisory boards and project proposal reviewer. She is also active member of the Integrated Disaster Risk management (IDRIM) society.
Funda has served on international scientific advisory boards in various conferences on disaster risk, climate change and resilient cities. In 2015, was one of the Habitat III Invited Experts for the Regional Report on Housing and Urban Development for the UNECE region and she has co-organized a side event on “Disaster Recovery in Urban Areas” at the Habitat III conference, held in Ecuador in 2016.

Zeynep SOFUOGLU is medical doctor and assoc. prof on Public Health. She is Board Member of Ambulance and Emergency Physicians Association and lecturer in Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Izmir Democracy University, Izmir, Turkey.
At the same time, she is the Psychodrama Group Leader (dissertation thesis: Preparation of a Paramedic for the Scene).
She has been participating in many European projects since 2008. These projects are mainly from European Commission 7th Framework Programme, Horizon 2020 and mainly from the DRS and Security call. She worked as an ambulance physician, responsible physician, training coordinator and deputy chief physician, respectively In Izmir Ambulance Service.
She is the instructor of all Emergency Medical Services courses and WHO Public Health Emergencies Course.

Prof. Federico Alvarez is Telecom Engineer with honours (2003) and Ph. D. (2009), both by the “Universidad Politécnica de Madrid”. He is Full Professor in UPM and head of a research group, in the area of media communications and applied AI. He funded 3 startups in the last 10 years in the area of multimedia technologies and AI. Prof. Álvarez has a long track record in the EU research, beign nowadays the coordinator of GenoMED4ALL, RESCUER (a DRS project on situation awareness of first responders), SYNTHEMA and DAFNE+. He has been in the last 10 years also leading the UPM participation in more than 20 EU funded projects in such areas.

Sabina Magalini is senior Surgeon of the Emergency and Trauma Surgery Unit at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Gemelli IRCCS (FPG) and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Rome Catholic University School of Medicine (UCSC).
She is also an Associate Researcher of the Italian National Council of Research (CNR-IASI); Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) and of the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES). Her main interests focus on hospital surge plans, medical response to major incidents, emergency and trauma care system, decision support systems for major emergencies, training guidelines and standards in the framework of EU Programme projects (SICMA, EDEN, PULSE, REACHING OUT, ENCIRCLE, NO-FEAR, PANACEA, INCLUDING. EU-HYBNET). To all of these she actively participated as Investigator and is the Coordinator of the PANACEA, which is driving a human-centric approach to cybersecurity in healthcare.

PhD candidate Çağlar AKMAN (M) has been graduated from Middle East Technical University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2008. He completed his M.S. degree in robotics area in electrical and electronic engineering at Middle East Technical University in 2017. During his MSc. he has worked on system modelling, sensor arrays, array signal processing, beamforming, multi-object detection and sensor fusion. He is a PhD candidate at Middle East Technical University in robotics field in Electrical and Electronics Engineering department. He joined HAVELSAN Inc. as a system engineer and he is team leader of the modelling and sensor technologies. He has been working on system architecture design,
algorithm development for control systems, sensor networks, and sensor fusion as well as embedded system design project. He has taken a role in several international R&D projects. He is working as the Technical Coordinator in the TeamAware project.
