The Spanish Association of Fire Protection Companies (Tecnifuego) will present a technical document at SICUR 2026 regarding the remote management of fire alarms and services related to Fire Alarm Receiving Centres (CRI). Drafted by the Association, the document is intended to serve as a benchmark for the sector. The official presentation, scheduled for 24 February, will detail all technical specifications and procedures outlined in the document.

To regulate technical and operational aspects concerning the connection of fire detection and alarm systems to a CRI, Tecnifuego spearheaded the creation of a specific Working Group within the Association's Sectoral Committee of Detection Equipment Manufacturers. This group relied on the participation and coordination of the Spanish Association of Alarm Receiving Centres (AESCRA), a Tecnifuego associate entity representing the alarm receiving centre sector.

The document is the outcome of work carried out by this group and establishes a common reference framework considering the growing deployment of fire detection systems connected to permanently staffed control centres, as well as the technological and regulatory shifts affecting these services. As such, it complements and expands upon the technical document published by Tecnifuego in 2021 by incorporating additional criteria and guidance.

Management of Alarm Signals

The text addresses aspects related to the management of fire alarm signals in general terms, defining guiding principles to guarantee service continuity, efficacy, and safety. It also identifies the various stakeholders involved, including users, installation and maintenance companies, and the receiving centres themselves.

The official presentation of the document will take place on 24 February at SICUR, the leading event for the security sector in Spain, where all technical details and procedures established in the document will be elaborated upon.
