APICI Analyses the Challenges for the Sector at the 10th Congress on Fire Safety Engineering

Following the success of the 9^th International Congress on Fire Safety Engineering, organized by APICI in Madrid in October 2017, with the attendance of more than 200 professionals, international experts and companies from the sector in Spain, the country’s leading event in the field of Fire Protection Engineering is being held once again. On this occasion, the congress will be co-located, with sessions beginning on 25th September 2019 at the Mapfre Foundation and continuing at the Comillas Pontifical University-ICAI on 26^th and 27^th.

The sessions will feature presentations and analysis of the most current issues in the field of fire protection. Some of the main sessions include the campaigns by MAPFRE Foundation and APTB (Objective Zero Victims in Fires), lessons learned from major fires in homes and historic heritage sites, with firefighters’ insights (with the participation of firefighters from Paris, London and Quito), and insights from government about the situation of fire safety in Spain.

Other sessions will address the challenges of fire safety in buildings, innovation and R&D&I in fire protection engineering, fire forensic analysis and investigation, fire safety in the logistics sector and industry, lessons learned in fighting forest fires, qualifications, competences and training for fire protection engineers, and fire protection in transport infrastructure.
