Diego Tronchoni, Operations Manager at Hommax | SmartSD, states that the company’s participation in SICUR 2026 has been “overwhelmingly positive.”

The majority of visitors were “installers and integrators,” though “we also welcomed law enforcement agencies, end users, consultants, and even other distributors.”

How was the foot traffic at the Hommax | SmartSD stand during SICUR 2026?

The assessment of our participation this year is very positive. The influx of visitors was high; specifically, more than 600 people registered at the Hommax | SmartSD stand, not including those who visited without registering or those who visited the Securimport | SmartSD stand.

What types of visitors attended?

The bulk of the visitors were installers and integrators, although we were also visited by law enforcement agencies, end users, consultants, and even other industry distributors.

What was the concept behind the stand?

We view SICUR as a central meeting point and, to that end, our stand was designed to nurture client relationships in a relaxed atmosphere where business and opportunities could be discussed over quality food and drink.

What innovations were showcased?

The main news we shared at this edition of SICUR concerned our company, SmartSD, following the acquisition of Hommax in July and Securimport in February. As a result of these acquisitions, SmartSD, a distribution firm specialising in security products, brings the advantages of its European scale to the Spanish and Portuguese markets, while maintaining a strong local presence through a team of 60 highly experienced professionals.

Which products were presented?

Regarding product innovations, we focused our attention on intrusion detection. We presented the Hikvision intrusion roadmap for the coming months, which includes new wireless kits, such as a solution designed for use without a power supply in vacant properties, second homes, or temporary installations. Also noteworthy are the Hikvision hybrid panels with bus devices and highly innovative peripherals. Among these, the new PIRCAM stands out, as it features a mechanical mask that physically covers the camera when the system is disarmed, thereby guaranteeing maximum user privacy.

We also presented the latest updates from Risco (including the new Slim contacts and the VuPoint AI camera range), Honeywell (the new MK9 keypad, a new communicator, and new detectors), Optex, and Alarmtech. Additionally, we introduced the Acre product range and Bosch detectors to our portfolio.

What was your primary objective at SICUR?

Our main goal this year was to introduce SmartSD to the Spanish market. With an annual turnover exceeding 200 million euros, SmartSD is the leading distributor in the Benelux region and number two in France. However, it was still relatively unknown in Spain until it entered the market through the acquisition of Hommax last July. SICUR has allowed us to share SmartSD's track record and scale with the market, as well as the added value we provide through our characteristic operational excellence and top-tier technical support.
