MSA The Safety Company - SICUR 2018
MSA has safety covered at SICUR with next generation technology
MADRID, February 2018 – With safety standards more stringent than ever, the demand for high-quality safety technology has never been more important. MSA Safety (NYSE: MSA) will demonstrate its commitment to helping raise global safety standards by showcasing the widest range of innovative and integrated protection equipment at the upcoming SICUR Show in Madrid, Spain (February 20 to 23).
This next generation technology will show how challenging and complex safety needs can be met more simply through accessing MSA’s proven safety solutions in the field of fall protection, gas detection and fire safety.
Fall protection at its best
The advanced V-Series range, trusted by workers across the globe, offers one of the highest levels of fall protection available when used with MSA’s suite of Latchways engineered lifelines.
MSA’s latest V-Series harnesses on show include the lightweight and durable V-FORM harness and padded and tailored V-FIT option. Both models have fully adjustable straps, comfort features and dual load indicators to alert wearers when they are involved in a fall event. MSA will also unveil the extremely durable V-SHOCK Personal Fall Limiter (PFL). This contains patented spring radial energy-absorption to quickly and effectively slow and halt a wearer’s descent.
Game-changing gas detection
With a focus on reducing the overall cost of ownership for safety investments, MSA will present its game-changing new line of ULTIMA X5000 Gas Monitors – as well as breakthrough TruCal™ technology.
Its uncompromising General Monitors S5000 is as advanced as it is rugged, keeping plant and personnel safer for longer in the most demanding of environments while offering the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry. It replaces the hugely successful S4000 and is operated by magnet interface, a single touch button on the display or via a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone.
The ALTAIR 4XR Multigas Detector will undoubtedly attract interest at SICUR because it offers gas detection performance at an entirely new level - delivering real-time alarm and event notifications with speed, reliability and durability.
As a leader in the field of FGFD, MSA will offer new technology driven by its acquisition of UK-based Senscient. The Senscient ELDS is a laser-based open path gas detector providing unmatched filtering technology to reduce the likelihood of nuisance alarms.
Breakthrough innovations for fire safety
MSA will showcase breakthrough innovations for fire fighters, such as the MSA SLS. The integrated monitoring unit SingleLine SCOUT combines the advantages of MSA's unique SL hose-in-hose technology with an easy to use personal alert safety system (PASS). The MSA V-TEC mini personal fall limiters (Mini PFL) will see its introduction at the show. An innovative safety appliance for fire and rescue services looking for safe and secure access to and from mobile elevating work platforms.
With fire and EMS personnel now often the first responders to scenes which involve violence MSA is offering a range of ballistics helmets, including the Gallet TC 800 and Gallet F1 XF with a tinted visor to counteract glare.
