Salón Look: the meeting point for professional beauty

The trade show held at IFEMA MADRID had a dedicated space for the professional aesthetics sector in Hall 12. In a very special edition of Salón Look, celebrating its 25th anniversary, the trade show featured a complete representation of brands from this sector.

Salón Look, the Image and Integral Aesthetics trade show organised by IFEMA MADRID, took place on 4-6 November 2023. The leading brands and companies in the field of aesthetics and medical aesthetic equipment gathered to showcase their latest releases, including Cincos, Indiba, i-motion Group, IR Group, Lpg, Megan by Skeyndor, Novasonix, Rös’s and Termosalud. It is worth noting the significant investment into R&D in the sector, one which is constantly evolving with cutting-edge technology that achieves effective results, something that was entirely evident at Salón Look 2023. This edition also saw a significant increase in the presence of cosmetic brands, especially those related to natural cosmetics, following the current trend in the beauty market. These brands had the opportunity to showcase their latest products to professionals. Cosmetic brands including 180 The Concept, Bestetic Selection, Bocare, Colágeno Puro-Naturgran, Código 372, Guinot, Mary Cohr, Isseimi, Glacee Skincare, Kelaya, Keradermic, Naturnua and Zincaremed.

In Hall 12, which was dedicated exclusively to the professional aesthetics sector, there were also brands related to the world of micro-pigmentation. Their presence was completed with master classes taught by Dora Marcano and the Eurotouch brand.

One highlight of Salón Look 2023 was the International Buyers Programme, organised by Stanpa in collaboration with Salón Look and ICEX. The programme facilitated nearly 200 business meetings between Spanish and international buyers.

The Speaker Corner area was a hotbed of activity, with a constant stream of commercial presentations and demonstrations.

Among other activities held at the magnificent Village & Auditorium space at Salón Look 2023, the 15th Congress of Aesthetics was a must-attend event. The event, hosted by beauty expert journalist Isabel Juncosa, kicked off with a keynote address by Rosa Ma. Cruz, president of FANAE, who discussed the important topic of how to treat today's customers. Rounding out the customer and business section was a presentation entitled "How to Make Your Services More Attractive" by Rebeca Bárcena. And the round-table discussion, with a focus on customer service, featured Miriam Collado, esthetician, distributor and co-founder of Templo de la Estética; Jessica Massó, business management expert; and Consuelo Silveira, trainer and expert esthetician.

Oncology aesthetics was a hot topic at Salón Look 2023. Dr Alain Toledano, president of the Rafaël Integrative Health Institute in Paris, delivered a presentation on integrative medicine for cancer patients and survivors, with translation by Lionel Galipienzo. María Unceta, founder of María D'uol, discussed the importance of skin in the quality of life of cancer patients.

The programme concluded with a presentation and conversation between Dr Abraham Benzaquén, a specialist in aesthetic medicine, and Consuelo Silveira, in which they discussed the role of the aesthetic doctor and the esthetician in medical-aesthetic treatments. Silvia Sánchez, with a presentation on micro-circulation, injuries and pain, and the power of magnetic waves to treat them. There was also a talk entitled "Not Everything Green Is Natural: Truths and Lies About Greenwashing", presented by journalist Itziar Salcedo and pharmacist Luz García.

The event also featured a thought-provoking presentation by Dr Ivan Mañero, a plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon, entitled: "Beauty: Biological or Cultural?" To conclude the congress, psychologist Vicens Alujas gave a presentation on how to cope with long workdays and maintain inner balance

Following this was a tribute organised by FANAE to Rosa Ma. Cruz, recipient of the Salon Look 2023 Honour Award. After 40 years, she passed the baton as president of FANAE, leaving the bar set impossibly high.

On Sunday, the renewed and updated version of the World Massages workshop took place. This workshop brought together leaders in the industry to showcase new advances and techniques.

Led and presented by Imagen Personal specialist Pilar Roldán, the workshop featured renowned figures who demonstrated genuine and personal techniques. The exclusivity of the disciplines taught was such that access was only possible by attending to Signature Massages or by contacting the instructor directly, as some of them are protected by intellectual property.

The day began with the renowned Remonte Massage by Silvia Oliete, followed by Monica Pasolea with her famous Tamash Method. Next, Josep Lupión, expert massage therapist and “Licensed Kobido facialist,” demonstrated his renowned Deep Face Lifting. Valentín Sánchez Rey followed with the Global Activation Method. Finally, Yvette Pons, a renowned facialist and creator of signature techniques registered by intellectual property, presented the SULYFTH® & YV-LYFTH® therapy.

Salón Look, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary, has become a top-level professional event attended by professionals from all over Spain and abroad. This has consolidated the trade show as the undisputed leader in the Spanish-speaking world and as an essential event for brands and companies to showcase everything new in the industry, as well as for professionals to receive training and to share experiences.
