The inaugural European Care Expo-Congress will bring together key industry stakeholders at IFEMA MADRID to address the challenges transforming the care system and to anticipate its future evolution.

The 1st European Care Expo-Congress, SocioCARE, which will be held from 9 to 11 June at IFEMA MADRID, is set to address the major challenges facing the sector through a series of key thematic pillars that will form the core of the event's programming. Among the primary themes are the transformation of care models, the development of proximity services, social and healthcare coordination, sector talent, technological innovation, and the social challenges associated with ageing.

One of the central focus areas will be the transformation of care models, an ongoing process aimed at addressing new social demands and the diverse situations individuals experience throughout the ageing process. This area will analyse various care options, ranging from residential facilities to more flexible models, and their role within a system currently undergoing redefinition.

In parallel, the development of proximity services and community-based care stands out as another major driver of the congress. Home care, the role of the community, and the adaptation of care to contexts such as rural environments will be key topics at a time when the goal is to bring services closer to people’s daily lives.

Coordination between healthcare and social systems will be another vital area of focus, recognised as a necessary element for advancing towards more integrated models. Linkages between care levels, institutional collaboration, and the improvement of care pathways will be among the specific aspects presented for discussion.

SocioCARE will also pay special attention to the workforce sustaining the care system, addressing issues related to attracting and retaining talent, working conditions, and the need to promote new pathways for training and qualification; these topics will be approached from a practical perspective in a sector facing significant employment challenges.

Innovation and technology applied to care will likewise constitute a prominent pillar. The advancement of digital solutions, telecare, and tools designed to promote personal autonomy are opening new possibilities that transform service delivery and expand the reach of care.

Finally, SocioCARE will include a reflection on the major social challenges linked to ageing, such as longevity, unwanted loneliness, and changes in demographic structure. These factors, increasingly present in public debate, shape the evolution of the care system and demand responses adapted to a constantly transforming reality.

A space for sharing knowledge and generating proposals

Through these primary thematic pillars, SocioCARE is established as a space for analysis, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of experiences within a sector that is strategic for society.

The Congress will offer a global vision, allowing current challenges to be addressed from multiple perspectives, fostering dialogue among all stakeholders involved, and contributing to the promotion of solutions aligned with both present and future needs.
