Exhibition for Construction Professionals in the Works
The Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) presented the International Construction Week Mexico (SICON MX) this morning, a specialized exhibition for the construction sector — covering everything from structural work to finishes — set to take place at Expo Guadalajara in April 2026. The event is expected to host over 200 exhibiting companies and 5,000 professional visitors.
Juan Manuel Chávez Ochoa, President of CMIC, explained that the event was born from the need to bring the entire construction sector together under one roof.
“This is a business-to-business event, so all attendees are directly connected to the construction industry,” he said. During the announcement, a partnership agreement was signed between Juan Manuel Chávez, President of CMIC; Luis Isaías Salazar, President of Expo Guadalajara; and Jaime Martín Bernard, Director of International Expansion at IFEMA Madrid.
Luis Isaías Salazar, President of Expo Guadalajara, emphasized that the collaboration represents a major achievement and will provide an opportunity to boost economic growth in the construction industries while fostering the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences.
