FIAA 2012 FIGURES

The eleventh edition of the International Bus and Coach Trade Fair (FIAA) concluded on 26 October with positive results and an upbeat response from the sector. The facts confirm the success of this edition, which was opened by Public Works Minister Ana Pastor. A total of 181 vehicle and coach builders took part, joined by representatives from the bus and coach supply industry for components, accessories and services from 18 countries.

The FIAA Show, which celebrated its 20th anniversary with a commemorative exhibition of its 10 previous editions, received 9,744 professionals from 51 countries. 70% of these were recognised, highly-qualified decision makers in the industry. 15% of visitors were international professionals and buyers. Foreign attendees mainly came from European countries; headed by Portugal, with 34% of the total, and followed mainly by Italy, Germany and the UK. It is worth highlighting the interest which FIAA has aroused outside Europe, particularly the influx from emerging markets, especially Latin America, with a remarkable presence of professionals from Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico. Likewise, the increase in Turkish visitors has been outstanding. Turkey is a large manufacturer of transport vehicles and its presence at FIAA increased fourfold compared to the previous edition.

As for Spanish visitors, aside from professionals from Madrid -the Region that hosts FIAA and where a high number of transport operators are located - the regions with the highest representation were Catalonia, Andalusia and Basque Country.
