It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to present
another edition of MATELEC, the largest trade fair on the Iberian
Peninsula and one of the largest in Europe for the electrical and
electronics sector. MATELEC has always made a great effort to
highlight and guarantee the position of this sector and this latest
edition will once again place the emphasis on energy efficiency
and on providing opportunities for the efficient renovation and
refurbishment market, as well as provide a valuable commercial
tool for supply and demand.
Another major strategy being worked on is aimed at enhancing those markets of greatest interest to
the sector, such as Ibero-America, North Africa and the Middle East, the countries in our peer group
within the European Union and Eastern Europe.
Furthermore,we have strengthened all sorts of measures and tools tomake it easier for participating
companies to maximise their return on investment, thus enabling them to multiply their commercial
opportunities and translate them into beneficial contacts for the future.
All these initiatives have been clearly recognised by participating companies as they once again
consider MATELEC to be the right trade and business platform for helping them develop their
strategies. In turn, the leading associations in the sector are also supporting the event again as one
of their best commercial tools.
The fair will again provide a valuable and up-to-date snapshot of this industry, with its most
innovative solutions for the electrical and electronics industry - structuring its offer around the five
large sectors that we defined at the previous edition: Technologies and Components for Electrical
Installations; Solutions for Smart Buildings and Cities; Automation, Industrial Control and Electronics;
Electricity Management; and Lightec: Indoor and Outdoor Lighting Solutions.
Finally, and in light of the success achieved at the previous edition, we are organising another
Energy EfficiencyWeek.With a busy promotion campaign throughout Spain, this event aims to raise
awareness in society about the importance of renewing energy efficiency efforts.
In short, MATELEC 2014 will be a major event of great significance that I am sure will meet the
highest expectations of both companies and professionals. To all of them, I offer a warm and sincere
