Após retornar de Madrid, na Espanha, a principal feira de frutas do hemisfério norte, a Fruit Attraction retorna para São Paulo de 25 a 27 de março. O evento, que vem se consolidando como o maior do setor na América Latina, reunirá a cadeia produtiva de frutas e hortaliças do hemisfério sul e conta com o apoio da Secretaria de Agricultura e Abastecimento do Estado de SP.
“Fruit Attraction is a benchmark in this sector, which is so important to global agriculture. We are building this production chain with socioeconomic inclusion, with partnerships to produce on small farms in São Paulo. São Paulo has special conditions to receive Brazilian and foreign investors to produce fruit here,” said the Executive Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, Edson Fernandes, during the launch ceremony of the São Paulo edition, held at the department's headquarters.
O estado de São Paulo é o maior produtor nacional de frutas, exportando mais de U$250 milhões. A fruticultura paulista registrou crescimento financeiro de 13% em relação a 2023, segundo dados do Instituto de Economia Agrícola (IEA – Apta), da Secretaria de Agricultura e Abastecimento (SAA). O destaque foi para limões e lima, que totalizaram 50% de participação (US$121 milhões), com o envio de 112 mil toneladas.
Producers from São Paulo who participated in the fair in the Spanish capital spoke about the market opportunities generated. “We have been participating in Fruit Attraction Madrid for over 15 years. The fair always provides us with great business opportunities, strengthening partnerships and allowing us to showcase the quality and consistency of our products to the international market,” stated Weslley Parra, from the company Forever 5, which produces and exports lemons, mangoes, ginger, and grapes, and will be at the fair in São Paulo.
According to Gustavo Ricardo de Oliveira, agricultural manager at Gebran Citrus, Fruit Attraction São Paulo is expected to grow even more in the coming years. “We are noticing that Fruit Attraction São Paulo is generating positive activity in the private sector and associations. Over the years, it should attract even more external clients,” highlighted the representative of the company that produces lemons and oranges in the São Paulo municipalities of Itápolis, Arealva, Marília, Alvinlândia, and São Pedro do Turvo.
Fruit farming in São Paulo is characterized by the diversification of productive crops. In 2024, mangoes also stood out, with US$14 million exported, and papayas (US$1.5 million). The state is also the largest national producer of bananas, with 261 tons of the total produced. The largest center is in the Ribeira Valley. While the national average is 14 tons of bananas produced per hectare, the average in the Ribeira Valley is 22.
These are established production hubs for each fruit, spread across the four corners of the state. The Fruit Circuit, for example, is formed by the municipalities of Atibaia, Indaiatuba, Itatiba, Itupeva, Jarinu, Jundiaí, Louveira, Morungaba, Valinhos, and Vinhedo, with notable production of grapes, strawberries, peaches, guavas, plums, persimmons, acerola cherries, and figs. This production hub stands out for its rural tourism offerings on various properties, leveraging the region's historically significant fruit production potential.
In the context of access to credit, the Department of Agriculture recently launched a line of credit to stimulate fruit producers facing difficulties due to climate change. The Fruit Growing Credit Line from the São Paulo Agribusiness Expansion Fund (FEAP) has an interest rate of 3% per year, an 84-month term, and a 24-month grace period. In addition, FEAP also offers a line of credit for producers affected by citrus greening, a pest that has harmed the development of citrus orchards in the State of São Paulo. R$$300,000 is available per producer, with up to 96 months to repay, a 36-month grace period, and interest rates starting at 3% per year.

A segunda edição da feira em SP ocorrerá de 25 a 27 de março de 2025, no Centro de Convenções São Paulo Expo & Convention Center, onde reunirá toda a comunidade de frutas e hortaliças. A feira ocorre das 10h às 18h.
