Fruit Attraction São Paulo attracts buyers from over 30 countries and aims to boost Brazilian exports.

A highlight of the fair, the International Buyers Program is expected to facilitate over a thousand meetings between national producers and foreign investors. Brazil broke its export record in 2023.

São Paulo, April 2024 Brazil broke its fruit export record in 2023. In volume, it surpassed the 1 million ton mark and, in value, reached R$1.2 billion – figures 6% and 26% higher than in 2022. It is with this trend in mind that Fruit Attraction, one of the world's leading international fruit and vegetable trade fairs, is landing in Brazil this year. And with an important attraction: the International Buyers Program.

The program – which will take place throughout the fair, between April 16th and 18th – consists of meetings between foreign buyers and Brazilian exhibitors and producers. Major buyers from 30 different countries in South America, Africa, and Europe have already confirmed their attendance, and the expectation is that more than a thousand bilateral meetings will be held.

“The high expectations stem from the intense interest of major buyers in Brazilian products. To optimize meetings, we developed a matchmaking system that identifies the specific demands of each buyer and connects them with the capabilities of Brazilian producers,” says Ignacio Bartolomé, CEO of How2Go, the multinational internationalization company responsible for the Program. “The goal is to facilitate effective international negotiations, benefiting both sides in an already mature and developed fruit market.”

Bartolomé highlights the interest in açaí and mango, the fruit that Brazil has exported the most in recent years. The country also stands out in the commercialization of melon, lemon, grape, watermelon, and banana.

Finally, it is worth highlighting the sponsorship and significant support of ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) in the Fruit Attraction São Paulo Buyer Program. ApexBrasil works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.

First Brazilian edition

This is the first Brazilian edition of Fruit Attraction São Paulo. Last year, the European version, organized by IFEMA MADRID, attracted more than 103,000 professionals from 145 countries, as well as 2,000 exhibitors from around the world, becoming one of the major events on the global trade fair calendar.

In Brazil, the event is held with the support of Fiera Milano Brasil. “It’s a well-established brand in Europe and one of the world’s leading fruit and vegetable events. We’ve combined the strength of the fair with Brazil’s potential in the sector,” points out Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil.

Organizers project that Brazilian companies present at Fruit Attraction São Paulo will generate over US$250 million in business, which should be finalized within 12 months. The event will take place in São Paulo, at the São Paulo Expo.
