Fruit Attraction draws exhibitors from four continents to Brazil.

Fruit Attraction draws exhibitors from four continents to Brazil.

Representatives from the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Oceania are confirmed to attend the event, which takes place between April 16th and 18th in São Paulo.

São Paulo, March 2024 – A success in Europe for 15 years, Fruit Attraction brought together 2,000 exhibiting companies from 56 countries and 90,000 professionals from 135 countries at its 2023 edition in Madrid, Spain. The expectation now is to once again bring together diverse countries for the first edition in Brazil, scheduled to take place from April 16th to 18th at São Paulo Expo.

“We will have many international stands at the fair. We are bringing a portion of the European public to exhibit here,” says Marcelo Vitali, IFEMA MADRID delegate in Brazil. The Spanish multinational internationalization company, commercial representative of the event in the country, organized by IFEMA MADRID and held with the support of Fiera Milano Brasil, has already sold spaces to representatives from America, Europe, Africa and Oceania.

The IFEMA MADRID delegation in Brazil invited approximately 50 Brazilian exporting companies and nearly 10 Brazilian importing companies to the latest edition in Spain. The negotiations conducted during the event are expected to generate US$200 million (approximately R$992 million at the current exchange rate) in sales within 12 months.

“The fruit market is particularly interesting because it represents foreign trade very well. Due to seasonality and the diverse varieties of fruit, there is both export and import in this segment. Therefore, it is crucial to have international exhibitors showcasing their fruits and, potentially, cultivation technologies, logistics solutions, and other innovations during Fruit Attraction,” adds Vitali.

For Fiera Milano, international interest reinforces Brazil's relevance on the international stage. With a great diversity of fruits, the country broke its revenue record in 2023, reaching US$1.2 billion, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas).

“There is a great deal of interest among international exhibitors in developing import and export operations or in offering logistical, technological and auxiliary services to national producers. Our production has been breaking records and will certainly grow even more after this great event. This global exchange helps everyone's business,” exclaims Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil.

According to the event organizers, they estimate attracting 9,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors. They also expect 40 international buyers.

International synergy

In addition to Brazil, exhibitors from Panama, Colombia, Uruguay, the United States, Egypt, New Zealand, Portugal, Greece, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Spain have already confirmed their participation. Organizers expect this number to grow in the coming weeks.

Featuring leading companies in their sector and country, the Locuston stand brings together the most renowned fruit, vegetable, and produce producers from their respective countries and sectors. According to commercial director Ricardo Cipriani, the members, who have been participating in the Madrid edition for many years, look forward to welcoming clients and friends to discuss trends and the market situation, as well as using the space to exchange experiences and make new connections with other producers, distributors, and supermarket owners.

“The expectation is that it will be a high-caliber event, with a qualified and international audience, reflecting the importance of our markets and also our production. Both Brazil and the vast majority of South American countries have a thriving and developed fruit and vegetable industry, offering the world market products of excellent quality. On the other hand, they are also major consumers of fruit and important players for European and North American producers during the off-season. Having the opportunity to bring these worlds together in one event certainly increases synergy between operators and contributes greatly to the development of the sector on our continent,” says Cipriani.
