The Federal District strengthens its international presence and consolidates itself as a strategic hub for agribusiness.
From March 25th to 27th, the Federal District will be present for the first time at Fruit Attraction 2025, one of the largest global fairs in the fruit and vegetable sector, which will be held at the São Paulo Expo & Convention Center. The presence at the fair will be led by the Semper Fidelis Association and will have the support of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Supply and Rural Development of the Federal District (Seagri-DF), as well as the partnership of EMATER-DF and CEASA-DF.
The Federal District (DF) is consolidating itself as one of the main strategic hubs for Brazilian agribusiness. Recently elected the best city for doing business in the agricultural sector, according to a ranking by Exame magazine, the federal capital stands out for its privileged location and favorable environment for new investments. These factors drive the sector's growth and expand the region's presence at international events.
For the first time, the Federal District will officially participate in Fruit Attraction with its own 180m² stand, aiming to strengthen local fruit farming and open markets on the national and international stage. The space will highlight the project "Agriculture in the Federal District: fruits of a Cerrado that feeds the world," which will promote regional products and sustainable agricultural practices. The objective is to expand business opportunities, strengthen the production chain, and foster rural and gastronomic tourism in the region.
Twelve companies from the Federal District will be present, highlighting the diversity and quality of local production. Among them are Agroindústria Machadinho, with 15 years of experience in minimally processed foods; Amazônia Real Nuts, the largest agro-industry in the Central-West region in the sector of nuts and dried fruits; and Central Unium Brasília, which brings together family farming cooperatives.
Specialized companies will also be present, such as Cerrado Blue, a leader in blueberry cultivation; Fazenda Amigos do Cerrado, a producer of organic Tahiti limes; and Fazenda Malunga, a pioneer in organic foods. Also noteworthy are Feel Berry – Agropecuária JPC, which invests in blueberry production; Maracujá Imperador do Cerrado, with its unique variety of sour passion fruit; and Sucopira Sucos Naturais, a producer of preservative-free juices and kombuchas.
Sustainability will be a key differentiator with SustentAgro, which manages waste using coconut fiber. In the wine segment, Villa Triacca Hotel Vinícola & Spa will showcase its production of fine winter wines, while Morangos Brasil will bring its high-quality strawberry production.
These companies reinforce the potential of the Federal District in agribusiness and seek to expand their commercial opportunities on the international stage.
The selection of producers to represent the Federal District was carried out by the Semper Fidelis Association, following technical and transparent criteria. Priority was given to producers of conventional and organic fruits and vegetables with production capacity, potential for new markets, and adoption of good agricultural practices.
These companies reinforce the agricultural potential of the Federal District, which currently has more than 2,160 hectares of productive areas and approximately 2,300 rural producers. In 2023, the region's fruit production reached 37,615 tons, with guava, avocado, lemon, and banana standing out, according to data from the Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP).
The participation of the Federal District in the fair is a significant milestone, highlighting the fundamental role of fruit farming in generating income for rural properties. With most properties smaller than five hectares, encouraging the production of fruits and vegetables is crucial to ensuring families remain in the countryside and boosting new business opportunities. In addition to fostering commercial partnerships, the event values the biodiversity of the Cerrado and its native products, consolidating the Federal District as a hub for agricultural innovation and sustainability. The fair also has the potential to attract buyers to the Federal District, expanding commercial opportunities for local producers.
FRUIT ATTRACTION
Since its creation in 2009, Fruit Attraction has established itself as one of the largest events in the fruit and vegetable sector, bringing together more than 2,000 exhibitors and attracting around 90,000 visitors from various countries. By 2025, the expectation is that the event will further reinforce the importance of the Federal District in agribusiness, generating new investment opportunities and commercial partnerships.
