Family farming in Bahia will be present at the largest fruit farming fair in Latin America, in São Paulo.
With a significant presence at Fruit Attraction São Paulo 2024, Bahia returns to the leading international fruit and vegetable market in the Southern Hemisphere to showcase its diverse range of family farm products. The fair takes place from March 25th to 27th, 2025, at the São Paulo Expo & Convention Center in the city of São Paulo.
Exporters will have the opportunity to sample beers made from umbu, cajá, and cashew fruits, whole bean and ground coffee, chocolate candies filled with fruit, palm hearts, cashew nut pastes, jams, dehydrated fruit mixes, sweets, and other products made by farming families in Bahia.
“During the 2024 edition, we established dialogues with more than 80 importers and exporters, who highlighted the richness and diversity of the products, the quality of the packaging, and the assertive production methods of our rural team. This year, our expectation is to explore even more business opportunities and expand the presence of family farming products from Bahia in the markets,” explained the head of the Secretariat of Rural Development (SDR), Osni Cardoso.
Fruit farming in Bahia
With billions of dollars invested in family farming, Bahia has stood out in agro-industrialization, enabling the appreciation and added value of what is planted and harvested in the field. In total, there are more than 400 agro-industries, directly supported by the State, that transform raw food into products that can reach more demanding markets.
This year, Bahia's presence at Fruit Attraction will include the participation of the Secretariats of Rural Development (SDR), Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation, Fisheries and Aquaculture (Seagri), and Tourism (Setur-BA), in addition to the support of the National Union of Family Farming and Solidarity Economy Cooperatives (Unicafes-Bahia).
