Fruit Attraction São Paulo 2025 doubles its size and consolidates its relevance in the sector

Fruit Attraction São Paulo, which will celebrate its second edition from March 25th to 27th at São Paulo Expo, is consolidating itself as a meeting point and business platform for the fruit and vegetable industry.

Brazil, third largest fruit producer in the world, occupies a discreet 23rd place in the world ranking of exports. In this sense, Fruit Attraction São Paulo will once again play a key role in enhancing and boosting the internationalization of the sector.

«With enormous climatic and territorial diversity, the country is one of the largest producers in the world. However, there are still challenges that limit growth in the international market, such as the need to improve the logistics infrastructure, expand new markets and rely on more innovative and sustainable technologies. Fruit Attraction São Paulo plays a crucial role in this context, offering a strategic platform to boost the internationalization of the sector», explains Jaime Martín, director of International Expansion at Ifema Madrid, co-organizer of the event with Fiera Milano Brasil.

In its first edition, held in 2024, the fair brought together 300 exhibitors from 15 countries, attracting more than 12,000 visitors and generating an estimated impact of more than 1,000 million reais for the industry. This year, Fruit Attraction São Paulo takes a step closer to consolidating itself as the main event in the sector in South America.

Fruit Attraction São Paulo 2025 is expected to increase business opportunities by up to 15%. For him, the event is based on the confirmation of 45 international buyers from 21 countries, who will participate in meetings promoted by Apex Brasil (Agencia Brasileña de Promoción de Exportaciones e Inversiones), which last year assumed exports worth 2.68 million dollars.

The growth of the fair will also be reflected in the occupation of the venue, which will double its size and accommodate 400 national and international brands, which will expose its fresh and processed products, in addition to its services.

«We hope to receive between 16,000 and 18,000 visitors», says Maurício Macedo, CEO of Fiera Milano Brasil. «Fruit Attraction represents a great opportunity for small producers to participate and learn firsthand how an international fair works, something that is possible thanks to the presence of the Agriculture Departments of different states in Brazil», añade. In 2024, representatives from other state governments were present at the event.

For Guilherme Coelho, president of Abrafrutas (Asociación Brasileña de Productores y Exportadores de Frutas y Derivados), this fair symbolizes a turning point for the sector. «Fruit Attraction São Paulo marks one before and after, placing Brazil as a key actor in international trade. Counting on an event of this magnitude in our country allows us to boost exports, diversify markets and increase the value of our products, highlighting their quality, sustainability and competitiveness».

Innovations and opportunities
Furthermore, the Fruit Forum will be another of the fair's attractions. Designed as a space for knowledge and exchange of ideas, it will bring together experts and sector leaders to debate the sector's main challenges and opportunities. Among the highlighted themes, it will address strategies to maintain product quality during transport and keys to meeting import and customs requirements.

On this occasion, you will have a masterful speech from Marcos Jank, coordinator of the Insper Agro Global center and expert in global agri-food systems, international trade, sustainability, business strategy and public policies. Considered a reference in the sector, Jank says that logistics continues to be the biggest success of the Brazilian fruit and vegetable sector.

«This is a very serious problem that affects our export capacity. Brazil is far behind other Latin American countries in the export of fruits, vegetables and greens, mainly due to important logistical deficiencies», adelanta.

This edition will also highlight technology and how it can contribute to production and exports in a context of climate change, population growth and major transformations in consumption habits. Trends like it big data, intelligent tracking, automation and artificial intelligence, are transforming the sector, allowing to optimize resources and increase productivity, in addition to contributing to a more sustainable food system for future generations.
