Vendibérica 2019, which is to be held from 13 to 15 November at IFEMA, will host the North Region and South Region Coffee Forum Barista Championships; the Aeropress Championship; Tasting Championship; Down's Barista Championship and, for the first time, the Latte Art Championship. Three days full of the knowledge, innovation and passion that unites all attendees, and from which the winners will be chosen to compete in the National Final in each of the categories in April 2020. These competitions, which are organised by the Coffee Cultural Forum, have become the best event for promoting coffee culture, the consumption of quality coffee and the prestige of the figure of the barista as a true specialist in the preparation and service of coffee.

These events will allow Vendibérica to reinforce its new area focussed on the coffee industry, MundoCafé, which will serve as a commercial meeting point between the operators in to the coffee industry and the hospitality industry, vending operators, distributors, food service, baristas and professionals in the food service industry. The objective is to bring MundoCafé -Vendibérica to the largest professional public in the entire north-south region of the Iberian Peninsula, to publicise the work of baristas, and contribute to the dissemination of coffee culture, in all its distribution and sales channels.

The new Coffee Forum Regional Championships will be presented in a competition format consisting of three championships representing the North, South and East Regions of our country, where the judges will choose the six, six and five best baristas respectively to participate in the 14th Coffee Forum National Barista Final to be held in April 2020.

The Barista Championships have helped increase the quality of the coffee consumed and the prestige the figure of the barista, a specialisation within the hospitality sector that is presented as a new and prosperous professional career. And it has already been shown that the establishments that have these professionals on their staff can offer a very important differential value in coffee service, significantly expanding, in addition, the profit margin on this product.

In the Aeropress Championship, the competition is based on a knock-out tournament with multiple rounds. In each of them, three competitors prepare coffee simultaneously. In the rounds in the final there will only be two competitors. Participants have 8 minutes to prepare, infuse and present their coffee. When time runs out, the coffees are presented in an identical way to the panel of judges, who evaluate them blindly and vote for the best.

In the Tasting Championship, the competition is open to all professional and amateur coffee tasters, who must face taste tests in which they must demonstrate their ability to distinguish between different coffees and identify their characteristics. The best tasters will also participate in the 14th National Final of the Coffee Forum Tasting Championship.

As part of the Regional Championships, Coffee Cultural Forum is opening a new competition: the Latte Art Championship. Participants who take part must take different individual tests divided into 3 qualifying rounds. Only the 3 participants with the highest score will go to the National Semifinal to compete for the title of National Champion.

Contestants in the Regional Championships must perform different tests divided into 3 qualifying rounds. Only the three participants with the highest score will go to the National semifinal to compete for the title of Champion. In the case of the National Latte Art Final, the contestants must perform different tests divided into 3 qualifying rounds plus a last final test.

Coffee Forum is organising the Down's Barista Championship in order to give visibility to this group and train people with Down's Syndrome to facilitate their insertion in the labour market. During the competition, the baristas will carry out an exercise which will be judged by approved Coffee Forum judges. The exercise will be carried out jointly and the contestants will prepare 4 espressos, two art cappucinos and two drinks with or without alcohol in 16 minutes.

Vendibérica 2019 foresees the participation of 200 companies and 10,000 professionals from over 55 countries, consolidating itself as one of the main European platforms in the vending sector. Organised by IFEMA and promoted by ANEDA, the Spanish National Automatic Distributors Association, it will take place in Hall 7 at Feria de Madrid. It will, once again, be held in conjunction with EAT2GO, a commercial meeting point for professionals in the Food Delivery & Take Away Industry, the 2017 EAT2GO was rated as the best way to attract a new professional profile.
