The Conference on Crue TIC Educational Technologies at SIMO EDUCATION 2019 will focus on the Role of People

Organised by IFEMA, SIMO EDUCATION will be held from 5 to 7 November in Hall 6 at Feria de Madrid

The Conference on Educational Technologies organised by Crue TIC will offer a programme of conferences that will focus on the influence of the roles of the various agents in Educational Technologies. The analysis of the student data to improve teaching will be discussed, as well as certifications, quality assurance, teacher support tools and the role of support teams.

The ICT department of Crue Universidades Españolas will once again be participating in SIMO EDUCATION, International Exhibition of Technology and Educational Innovation that is organised by IFEMA for the 5 to 7 November, with a Conference on Educational Technologies that is open to all visitors.

This year the conference, which will be held throughout the afternoon on Wednesday, 6 November in the Main Auditorium at SIMO EDUCATION- hall 6-, will have as theme “The role of people in Educational Technology”, and it will be comprised of five presentations.

The session will begin with an introduction by Oscar Cordón, President of the work group on Online Training and Educational Technologies of Crue TIC and Professor at the University of Granada, to then give way to the plenary conference “Using user-experience to improve teaching:  Educational Data Mining”, by Sebastián Ventura, Professor at the University of  Cordoba and internationally-renowned researcher on the use of student and teacher data analytics to improve the quality of teaching.

The remaining four lectures will focus on the various roles involved in developing Educational Technologies in any teaching environment. Emilio Peña, of the Fundación Universidad de Almería, will speak about this university’s experience in quality assurance for the courses and the ensuing certification.

After this, the role of teachers and of the technical and educational support teams that enable a successful implementation of Educational Technologies in teaching institutions will be discussed. The presentations on these subjects are: “A tool for monitoring university teachers in Virtual Learning Environments”, by Belén López, Vice-Chancellor of Virtual Teaching with the Universidad Católica de Murcia; “Managing innovation in edTEch”, by Carlos Turró, head of the Multimedia unit of the Department of Information and Communications Systems of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia; and “People profiles for edTech”, by Leire Nuere, Director of the OnLine Unit of the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.

Crue-TIC will also take advantage of its presence at SIMO EDUCATION to hold a meeting of the FOLTE work group, on Tuesday the 6 November, in the morning.
