Excellent prospects for SICUR 2018
The objectives of this edition are to grow in representativeness, enhance its power to convene professionals, both nationally and internationally, and to elevate the relevance and visibility that SICUR has achieved as the sector’s meeting point.
Organised by IFEMA, SICUR 2018 will be held from 20 to 23 February 2018 at Feria de Madrid.
SICUR, the International Security, Safety and Fire Exhibition, has commenced preparations for the celebration of its next edition which, organised by IFEMA, shall be held at the halls of Feria de Madrid from 20 to 23 February 2018.
One of the first steps was to assemble its newly-formed Organising Committee, which convened on 13 June with the goal of presenting the focal points of this new edition, and to work on the strategy that aims to grow in representativeness, enhance its power to convene professionals, both nationally and internationally, and to elevate the relevance and visibility that SICUR has achieved as the sector’s meeting point.
And it looks as though SICUR 2018 shall be a great fair and surpass the 2016 edition, which registered a growth in participation of 11 por ciento, with a total of 1,332 companies; in surface area, 24 por ciento, occupying 27,984 m2; and in the number of visits, 8.5 por ciento, with the attendance of 42,294 professionals from 76 countries.
These figures, which offer a very positive outlook, are backed once again by the strong support from the security sector’s main associations, which include TECNIFUEGO/AESPI, the Spanish Fire Protection Association, chairing the Organising Committee; ASEPAL, the Association of Personal Protection Equipment Companies; AES, the Spanish Association of Security Companies, and APROSER, the Association of Private Security Service Companies, as the three vice-chairs. Also part of this Committee are the main associations representing the world of private security, occupational safety, prevention, professionals, State Security Forces and Agencies, configuring a comprehensive work group that is focussed on fostering greater involvement of the industrial sector serviced by SICUR, and improving the interaction between exhibitors and the organisation so that the fair and its activities are effective.
SICUR shall showcase its offering in four halls, where each one of the sectors shall have their own identity. Hall 10, dedicated to Security, shall concentrate the latest in physical security, intrusion detection systems and access control, surveillance, private security solutions, equipment for the public security forces and, in general, the latest technological advances in the protection of property. The Fire Prevention and Emergencies Sector shall be located in hall 8, and shall feature the latest on passive and active fire protection, as well as solutions to improve response times in emergency situations. Halls 4 and 6 shall be dedicated to the Occupational Safety sector, with the latest proposals in Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), as well as in preventive and occupational health measures.
As usual, SICUR shall also be an important stage for the dissemination and analysis of the sector’s latest developments, through the different papers and presentations offered by the SICUR Forum, a discussion-oriented format, to which we must add the very dynamic and numerous exhibitions, demonstrations and product tests, and a new call from the New Products Gallery, which shall offer an interesting overview of research, development and innovation work undertaken within the sector.
