The digital transformation is set to become the main tool for the development and survival of small businesses in an increasingly digitised environment. In this context, the agreement reached between IFEMA MADRID and Red.es, an organisation attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitisation and Artificial Intelligence, is intended to promote the Digital Kit among the SMEs that participate in professional fairs organised by IFEMA MADRID.

The collaboration starts at FITUR, to be held from 19 to 23 January, and it will continue at other fairs to be held at IFEMA MADRID. In total, throughout 2022 Red.es will participate in 20 fairs by means of an information stand.

The Digital Kit was created to support the digital transformation of small businesses, micro-businesses and the self-employed, and work with them on the adoption of digital solutions that can increase their competitiveness. The objective is to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funds to provide SMEs and the self-employed with the digital tools they need to heighten their level of digital maturity, scale up, access new markets and develop their potential to the full.

The Digital Kit programme has a budget of 3,067 million euros. It is financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan with the Next Generation EU plans in the framework of the Digital Spain 2025 agenda and the 2021-2025 SME Digitisation Plan, and has the goal of digitising one million SMEs and freelancers throughout Spain over the next three years.

Until 2023, several grant schemes will be launched aimed at the different segments of SMEs and the self-employed. The first scheme will have an investment of 500 million euros, and will be aimed at SMEs with between 10 and 49 employees.

The companies that access this scheme through the public call will receive a digital bonus that will identify the financial amount that they will have available to use in the digital solutions that best suit their needs. These digital solutions range from the creation or maintenance of a web page, or online store, to the management of social networks, the digitisation of customer and supplier management, data analysis and exploitation, interactive virtual office solutions, electronic invoicing, secure communications or cybersecurity.

During FITUR, all small businesses, micro-businesses and the self-employed in the tourism sector who come to it from anywhere in Spain will receive information and advice at the Red.es stand on how to apply for grants to access the Digital Kit, as well as well as having the opportunity to have their level of digital maturity assessed.
