SAVE THE DATE Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida will celebrate its 25th edition from October 21st to 24th at ExpoMeloneras

• Due to the International Breast Cancer Day on October 19th, an inclusive and charity fashion show will take place during the event to support the awareness and prevention of the disease. • The interest of this catwalk that is a reference in Swim fashion keeps growing. In its last edition, more than 50,000 national and international users followed the fashion shows on the website, achieving a great media impact with 800 publications and an audience of 168 million users. • IFEMA MADRID continues co-managing the catwalk for the third year in a row.

The Cabildo de Gran Canaria Island Government and IFEMA MADRID have already started organizing the next Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida 2021 edition, that will take place from October 21st to 24th at the ExpoMeloneras venue in Maspalomas. Once again, IFEMA MADRID keeps co-organizating the event and will be this way until 2023, after the catwalk after winning the public tender. During this period the focus of the event will be in pushing the internationalization, professionalization, digitalization and sustainability of the event.

This is a unique event among the ones from its category and celebrates this year its 25th anniversary, consolidating its position as an international reference in swimwear. Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida put together in its last edition the collections of 38 designers and brands for women, men and kids, from which 18 were from the Canary Islands, 15 were national brands and 5 were international. Thanks to the big focus on digitalization in 2020, the event was followed online through the website by 50,000 users, from which 31.484 were from Spain that were joined by visitors from other different countries such as Portugal (13.456 users), Mexico, United States or France.

Moreover, the media coverage of the Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida was quite wide in either press, general and specialized on and offline media, as well as television, reaching around 168 million users across almost 800 publications. These numbers show the interest about this type of information that the exclusive professional catwalk specialized in swimwear generates.

In order to support this project, the catwalk had the partnership of 8 brands that showed their unconditional support to the fashion industry. These brands were Audi, Carlsberg, Alfaparf Milano, JLH Peluquerías (Jose Luis de las Heras), Fund Grube, GHD, Expomeloneras y Mascarillas Béjar.

Charity fashion show, We Swim Together

For the first time, coinciding with the International Day of Breast Cancer, it will take place the inclusive fashion show Let’s Swim Together, that wants to shot collections adapted to the consequences that this disease causes in the women’s body. Also, it will be a charity event with the goal of supporting the cause and the compromise of its investigation and prevention. On the catwalk will perform women that have suffered this disease. They will be the ones who show a selection of designs from different brands and have been created especially for those who have had to deal with the disease and have overcome surgery related to breast cancer such as the mastectomy.
