Ford Mustang Mach-E
An Electric Heart and An Exciting Design
The most legendary name in Ford’s history comes from the design of a wild horse that runs wild across the prairies of the American West. Now it’s been updated with the launch of the brand’s first 100% electric SUV: Ford has created the Mustang Mach-E as a really unique car at a competitive price that provides excellent dynamic handling to driving fun at the wheel of a truly outstanding car.
It clearly continues the legendary style that Mustang has brought to the motoring world with its unique logo with the charismatic horse that gives it its name, giving it the sporty and elegant look of all Mustangs, and muscular curves that are surprising for an SUV body, a real head-turner.
Its generous dimensions make it look very attractive thanks to the new platform created especially for this new model, as follows:

It offers two luggage compartments: The classic rear configuration with 402 litres capacity expandable to 1,420 litres by folding down the back seats, and an 81-litre front compartment in the space traditionally occupied by the combustion engine.
Ford Mustang Mach-E.- Fully Electric Propulsion with Motor, Battery and Range Variants
There are two battery type options for the electric motor: Standard range with 75.7 kW/h capacity (288 cells) and the higher one (which Ford calls extended range) with 98.8 kW/h (376 cells). There are also two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD) variants and combinations.
These batteries give it a range of between 400 km with the all-wheel-drive version, up to 610 km with the extended range version with rear-wheel drive (always bear in mind that these distances are estimated using WLTP and also depend on many other factors such as driving type and route).
Drive is provided by an oil-cooled AC electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The all-wheel-drive versions have a second electric motor on the front axle to give a 4WD drive system.
This gives in the following variants, which also combine different power ratings:
- Mustang Mach-E, with rear-wheel drive and power ratings of 269 hp (with 75.7 kW/h battery) and 294 hp (with 98.8 kW/h battery), providing 430 Nm of maximum torque and acceleration from stationary start to 100 km/h in 6.1 to 6.2 seconds.
- Mustang Mach-E, with 4WD and power ratings of 269 hp (with standard battery) and 351 hp (with extended range battery), delivering 580 Nm of peak torque and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 to 5.6 seconds.
- Mustang Mach-E GT with all-wheel drive, only with the extended range battery option and 465 hp and 830 Nm of peak torque, and acceleration from stationary to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, like the big super sports cars. This variant will be launched on the European market at a later date.
Recharge times for the batteries, as measured by Ford, are from 10% to 80% in 38 minutes using a rapid charge point connection, although these times for a full charge in a conventional home charge point (230 V) would be 6.5 hours.
Ford Mustang Mach-E.- Great Personality and Advanced Technology
Fifty-five years ago, the Ford Mustang became the world’s best-selling sports car because of its freedom-of-the-road image. The new Mach-E remains faithful to those ideas with a car aimed at a new generation of Mustang users; drivers who want a car that’s fast and fun to drive.
It certainly has a beautiful and sporty aesthetic while keeping the sleek look of an SUV, but more sporty, thanks to interesting details such as the absence of door and other handles. Now you open and lock the doors using your mobile phone with the new Phone As A Key system that Ford is introducing with the new Mustang. The Bluetooth ignition can start the car without taking the phone out of your pocket.
The chassis of the Mach-E is excellently combined with the new MagneRide adaptive suspension that helps improve the car’s centre of gravity. This construction has allowed Ford to put the batteries along the floor with very sophisticated protection and coating in a waterproof and shockproof casing that has been tested as low as -40°C.
It has also installed a new battery heating and cooling system to keep the temperature steady and maintain its energy capacity intact.
The steering feels very comfortable, and the design has excellent suspension damping.
Ford Mustang Mach-E.- Great Interior Design and Functionality
When you open the doors of the new Ford Mach-E, you’ll be amazed by its exceptionally spacious cabin, which comfortably accommodates the five people it’s designed for (there’s more space now that the combustion engine is gone).
The instrument panel is fully digital and has a 10.2-inch screen, debuting Ford’s new “SYNC” multimedia entertainment and communication system on a huge, vertical 15.5-inch central screen.
It also has a high-quality sound system and spacious leather seats whose anatomical configuration holds very well, with plenty of space in the rear seats.
The Mustang Mach-E has three driving modes called Whisper, Active, and Untamed to try to express the type of driving and motor response and the sound of the electric motor to give users a truly unique and special driving experience.
As regards prices and variants. All Ford Mustang Mach-E variants have two batteries, combined with power options, and two- or four-wheel drive and various electric ranges, as follows:
