GENERA 2021 will be held alongside MATELEC

From the 5 to 7 May 2021, at Feria de Madrid

After the Organising Committee was formed for GENERA, the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair, on the 5 October, it was agreed to delay the next edition –the 24th-, initially planned to be held from the 10 to 12 February 2021, to the 5 to 7 May, to coincide with MATELEC and the other trade fairs pertaining to ePower&Building (CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, ARCHISTONE, BIMEXPO, MATELEC LIGHTING and MATELEC INDUSTRY, to be held from the 4 to 7 May) to make the most of the common synergies.

Although they join forces, each of the events organised by IFEMA will retain their own profile and differentiated area. Specifically, GENERA will set up in Hall 8 at Feria de Madrid, connecting with the other Trade Fairs during the three days of the event.

Having reviewed the results of the last event at the GENERA Organising Committee meeting, the main lines for the next edition were analysed, the theme of which is “Integrating energy for a sustainable future”, in alignment with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and focusing on the goal to reduce emissions with equality, efficiency and solidarity.

The professional conference programming was also drawn up, with the participation of the various organisations and associations members of the Organising Committee.

Among others, the Innovation Gallery and the GENERA Startups Award will return, focusing on the deeply innovating aspect of a Spanish industry that is leading the growth of the international photovoltaic sector. This sector will again have its own area within the event, GENERA SOLAR, proof of Spain’s leadership in the growth of the international photovoltaic sector.

The GENERA Sustainability Forum will again provide the exhibitor companies with an area where they can present their latest solutions and the most advanced technology.

GENERA 2021 will take place in a safe and high-performance environment. GENERA 2020 closed its 23rd edition with close to 19,000 visitors. The Trade Fair was visited by professionals from 64 countries.

IFEMA has also organised a wide array of measures, following the health regulations established by the authorities, to ensure that the Trade Fair is held with the utmost guarantees.

IFEMA, a safe space

Lastly, and given the situation caused by the current pandemic, we must point out that GENERA 2021 will be held with all safety guarantees. The Community of Madrid has awarded IFEMA the Garantía Madrid seal, which acknowledges IFEMA’s work carried out to meet the mandatory regulations in the new normal caused by COVID-19, as well as for its extraordinary protocols. IFEMA has also received the ‘Safe Travels’ seal from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) for the Conventions, Meetings and Events Centres industry, thanks to the protocols and actions carried out in order to return to activities with a safe, healthy and responsible reopening.

These certifications acknowledge the importance of the steps and protocols implemented in order to guarantee the safety and mobility of participants in the events, as well as the transmission of information to everyone, regarding access control measures and capacity, physical distancing, hygiene and cleaning; in addition to the redesigning of the events, combining in-person and hybrid formats, as essential measures for proper development of the trade fairs and congresses.
