Paradores is taking a step further towards improving their guests' experience and increasing their security by digitalising their services through use of a virtual concierge. The company LoungeUp was awarded the project after a public tender and has successfully implemented the solution in all Paradores hotels.
How the tool works is simple. By scanning a QR code, guests can access the Parador’s services directly from their mobile phone or tablet. In a very intuitive way, people staying at the establishment can write to the reception desk or directly request breakfast in their room, book a table in one of the restaurants, select a time slot to use the swimming pool or the gym, or book a spa treatment. They can also conveniently request a late check-out, access the catalogue of artwork on display at the Parador, find out about the history of the building, or even obtain information about the points of interest in the area where the establishment is located.
This tool eliminates the necessity of being in close physical proximity to a member of staff when reserving a room or booking different services on offer, yet they can continue to use traditional in person services if they prefer to do so. The reduction in time spent within physical proximity to somebody else means a further reinforcement of the rigorous security protocols of Paradores, in turn benefiting those staying in the establishments and also those who work there. The virtual concierge also improves the guest experience by eliminating waiting times that are now unnecessary.
