WHY THIS CHALLENGE?
The Sustainable Development Goal #5 is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. This objective is key to achieving a balanced society and the tourism industry should not be oblivious to this fact.
Sustainable development also involves gender equality and women's empowerment. To achieve responsible tourism, all the actions and decisions of the different agents involved in the industry (public administrations, companies, organisations...) must be aimed at seeking equity and recognising and granting women the rightful role in a fair and balanced society.
WHY IS THIS CHALLENGE IMPORTANT FOR TOURISM?
