The latest edition of the International Exhibition of Solutions for Sustainable Construction (SCS) was held at IFEMA MADRID from May 7 to 10, 2014, within the framework of the International Week of Efficient Construction and Rehabilitation (SICRE), a trade and professional fair made up of the International Exhibition of Window and Glazed Enclosures (VETECO) and the International Exhibition of Natural Stone (PIEDRA).
SCS was a commercial tool at the service of the efficient integral construction and renovation sector and at the service of each company. It is a specialized, professional and international fair with a great integral and specialized offer. The strategic axes in the last edition were: new positioning and sectorial orientation; extension of a geographical scope of action; a fair tailored to each participant; and the extension of the visitor profile.
The International Exhibition of Solutions for Sustainable Construction is the largest Iberian and international gathering of specific events and covers all profiles of the sector, from prescription (architects, developers, construction managers, quantity surveyors ...), distribution (importers, operators, sale of materials ...), professional (workshops, installers, builders, reform companies), to the final destination (property managers, hotels, retail and trade, offices and company headquarters, public buildings, health centers, private end user ...).
The sectors that participated in this Fair are insulation, waterproofing and paint; locksmithing and metalwork; industrialised construction; elements for walls, structures, floors and roofs; protection and safety equipment on site; installations and services; air conditioning, heating and accessories; home automation and IT solutions; lighting; construction machinery; floor and wall coverings; prefabricated products; renovation, restoration and integral projects; bathroom and kitchen; stone; wood; renovation and urban regeneration.
Projection and internationalization
The SCS held at IFEMA was a tailor-made fair for each participating company, where the aim was always to build the event with the objective of maximizing the return on investment. SCS' resources were reinvested in guaranteeing the fulfillment of each company's objectives and they were advised to ensure commercial impacts.
In addition to various business opportunities, the fair offered participants Iberian coverage with specific promotional actions in Portugal and international coverage with export opportunities. Likewise, Spanish companies with export potential were able to enjoy the "Smart building solutions made by Spain" exhibition area to showcase their business plans.
In turn, SICRE 2014 was attended by 320 companies, 52 of them foreign. In addition, the main public institutions such as the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Directorate of Commerce of the Community of Madrid were present; the employers' associations of each sector such as the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Light Façades and Windows (ASEFAVE), the Confederation of Associations of Manufacturers of Construction Materials (CEPCO), and the Spanish Federation of Natural Stone (FDP); and entities such as the Higher Council of Associations of Architects of Spain, as well as the Official College of Architects of Madrid.
